My Heart is Beating

My heart is beating,
a consistent drum,
to which I sing to,

to which I hum.

My heart is beating,
to our every greeting,
to our every meeting,
to our every fleeting.

Thump, thump!
it cries,
Thump, thump!
I sigh.

I wish you would see me,
with my own eyes.
Eyes that see you

with a special kind of light.

My heart is beating,
a consistent drum,
to which I sing to,
to which I hum.

My heart is beating,
to our every greeting,
to our every meeting,
to our every fleeting.

Oh, how I wish you saw me,
with the same beating heart,
the same leering eyes,
with the same flying feelings.
