I'm Moving On

Slowly but surely, I'm moving on.
With each tiny step, a step further I've gone,

My footprints left in the snow

of this cold, old winter.

Slowly but surely, I'm moving on.
I'm controlling my eyes, not looking where you've gone,
Your footprints trailing away

from mine in the snow.

Slowly but surely, I'm moving on.
I'm holding my heart, the force more than one,
my strength isn't enough,
but I'm growing stronger in the cold.

Slowly but surely, I'm moving on.
My veins hardening in days more than one,
my blood freezing, my soul wheezing,
but I'm moving on.

Yes, it will take time,
that is a clear given.
Yes, I still care,
won't take what's been given.

Slowly but surely, I'm moving on.
Which each tiny step, a step further I've gone.
And now I stop and wonder,
how far have you gone?
