"No...of course not."

Padmé stood crouched in disbelief, though she couldn't see him, she knew only one Jedi who spoke in that manner.

"Master Yoda?"

Luke moved aside as best he could, so that she could see the ancient green alien.

"You know Master Yoda?! Master is this true?"

Yoda looked deep into Padmé's eyes before speaking,

"Know her, I once did. Long time ago, that was."

"Master Yoda", Padmé asked confusingly, "why aren't you at the temple, Luke said you had gone into exile but-"

"The truth he spoke, exile I am in."

"Why would the grand Jedi master go into exile without so much as an announcement? A-I mean Jedi knight Skywalker would have said something when we spoke last."

"Hey, I did tell you!" Luke interjected, however the other two just ignored him.

"The Jedi, no more they are."

Padmé's eyes grew wide, she was absolutely speechless.

"For twenty-four years, gone they have been."

"But I'm a Jedi, and twenty-four!" Again the ignored Luke spoke out.

Suddenly something clicked in Padmé's mind, a small connection, but it was still something. Nervously she asked the master,

"What happened?"

Yoda looked at Luke and then down,

"The Emperor, ordered the Clones to kill, he did. Obi-Wan and I, survived we did."

"Oh, yeah Ben! Master Yoda, I had a question I needed to ask."

Turning away from Padmé, Yoda looked at Luke.

"So, I came back to finish my Jedi training."

Yoda made his way to his bed and lied down before weakly answering,

"A question that is not."

"Yeah, sorry about that. Will you continue my training though?"

"Nine hundred years old, I am. Nearing the end, soon I shall."

Padmé and Luke were both shocked to learn this,

"Master Yoda, you can't die." Luke pleaded.

"Strong with the Force...but not that strong! Twilight is upon me and soon night must fall. That is the way of things...the way of the Force."

"But, how will I complete my training without you?"

"No more training do you require. Already know that which you need."

Padmé watched with concern as Yoda struggled to continue the conversation.

"Then I am a Jedi?"

Yoda carefully shook his head,

"Ohhh. Not yet. One thing remains: Vader. You must confront Vader. Then and only then, a Jedi will you be. And confront him you will."

Padmé was unsurprisingly confused,

Vader? Who or what is a Vader?

She watched as Luke stared down in what appeared to be shame, before he spoke.

"Master Yoda...is Darth Vader my father?"
