PS. MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 8 DAYS!!!! :D

“And here I thought I could count on you to do this without causing trouble.” I gritted my teeth together and sealed my lips with imaginary glue.

The last thing I needed to do was spite off something stupid when the Marshall was already pissed off. Of course, I did just get into a physical altercation with one of the PPDC’s most advanced Jeager co-pilots. Who also happened to be piloting the most advanced Jaeger in the entire fleet.

“Marshall, he-” My glued lips weren’t sealed tight enough.

Those few syllable’s that came out of my mouth sent Pentecost raging all over again.

“Take some responsibility!” My own anger flared at his final comment.

Chuck had been the one to pin me and start the whole thing. But I didn’t tell the Marshall that. Like he’d believe one of his golden boys was such a stuck up asshole.

“Yes sir.” I whispered through clenched teeth.

“Anything else, sir?” I asked coolly, reaching to end the vid-com.

“Your stay in Sydney has been prolonged.” My gaze shot back up to the Marshall.

“What do you mean, prolonged?” I spat, the anger and frustration I was feeling evident in my voice now.

“They want you to oversee the Supercell maintenance and then update Striker‘s OS with the newest UN regulated programs.” Either he didn’t notice my harsh tone or chose to overlook it, the latter seemed like the more likely choice.

“Don‘t they have qualified enough people here to do it without me?” My arms crossed over my chest and a slight tilt in my hips and I was in full ‘attitude mode’ as Mako liked to call it.

“Lila, this is a direct order. You are not to leave that Shatterdome until they are done with your services, it that clear?” His cool voice and chilled look would have froze a person less used to seeing that look. But I’d gotten it more than once.

“You‘ve got to be kidding me, Pentecost!” I threw my hands up in protest, turning my back to the man.

“I just head butted a Ranger in the face and you want me to stick around?” Turning back around, I threw my allegations in his face again.

“You can thank Hansen for you not getting kicked out of the program all together.” My back straightened and eyebrows shot up in surprise.

“Herc stood up for me?” I asked, incredulous. I know he liked that I didn’t put up with his son’s shit but I didn’t think he’d appreciate me beating him up.
