I walk along the side of the shore, of Central City's harbor. I run a hand through my hair. "Okay, here goes nothing."
I borrowed my friend, Izzie's pink dress. I'm personally not a fan of pink, but I had no choice. Barry set up a date, me being unprepared, and I just went with it.
I walk to the edge of the water, and look at the waves lapping at the stones. A gust of wind blows in.
"Sorry, I went as fast as I could," Barry says.
"I can tell, you ran here."
Barry's eyes fall on me. "Wow, you look so pretty."
"Thank you. But I really don't look the best... You look really good in a tux, by the way." I glance at his outfit.
"Well, you do look beautiful, whether you think so or not." Barry stares at me, and I stare back.
"Uh, I have a table set up...and I got you these," he hands me flowers, that were hidden behind his back.
"I'm not usually a person who likes romantic things, but thank you, Barry. This is really sweet of you."
Barry smiles. "Well, I figured that a fancy restaurant wasn't your speed, so I chose this." He leads me to our table, on a wooden deck overlooking the harbor.
He pulls out the chair for me. I smile, "you don't have to do all these things for me."
Barry pulls out his own chair, and sits down. "You're my girlfriend."
My throat closes up a little bit. We're boyfriend and girlfriend? Of course we are, this is a date, isn't it?
"Yeah... Um, so about Savitar..."
Barry looks at me, from across the white tablecloth covered table. "What about him?"
I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear. "I'm sorry, you probably don't want to talk about that."
"No, its okay. I'm just not used to my dates talking about villains, that's all."
"Oh..." I shift in my chair. Then a thought pops into my head, and it spills out of my mouth. "You didn't time travel again, did you?" I instantly regret talking.
Barry looks at me for a long moment, "yes."
"Was it the future?" I force myself to go on.
The Scarlet Speedster's expression becomes pained. "Yes, it was."
"Who died?" I can't believe I asked that. What is wrong with me?
Barry doesn't answer me, and I can see it in his eyes that he's hesitating. I finally realize who gets killed.
"Its me, isn't it? I'm the one who dies."
The Flash takes in a breath, "I went to the future by accident. I saw that we didn't get rid of Savitar at all. He was going to kill Iris."
"He didn't, did he?"
"...No, he didn't. That was because you stepped in and saved Iris, just when she was about to die. You told me to take Iris and run. That's when Savitar impaled you. You also told me, before you died that me and Iris were meant for each other. I wanted to save you, but you said no, and... And then you died."
"You don't know if that's going to happen or not, Barry. Anything can alter the timeline."
"That's what Jay said. But I can't help but think that..."
I reach across the table, and take his hand in mine. "Everything will be okay. Nothing is going to happen to Iris, or me. Like you said when Caitlin went in Killer Frost mode; 'we can fix this'."
