Annabeth leaned over Percy as his breathing became faster.
"What's happening?" she asked Apollo who was standing beside her.
"He's trying to wake up, but being in a coma-induced state for so long, it'll probably take awhile," Apollo said.
Annabeth grinned. "It's fine, I've got all the time in the world right now." Small tears started sliding down her cheeks.
After what felt like hours, Percy's hand tightened around Annabeth's hand.
Annabeth held her breath.
His eyes started to open, cracking just a sliver but enough to show the bright and alert sea green shade of his eyes.
"Percy," Annabeth breathed.
Percy blinked once, twice, but he didn't say a word.
Annabeth didn't need him to talk at that moment, she just needed him.
"I - " Annabeth hesitated.
Percy P.O.V
"I-" I looked at her, into her eyes. At that moment it looked as if a million things were running in her head. But in the end, she turned around and hung her head.
"I'm sorry Percy, I can't love you anymore," she whispered and left through the door.
She doesn't love me.
I bet she hates me.
I knew it.
Why would she care for me at all?
Just a stupid weak little sea spawn.
We told you , a voice hissed in my head.

They're just acting to be nice to you because they feel bad for you
Yeah, they don't like you Percy

They're just waiting to kick you out again
I mean, why do you think Annabeth left you?

Tears swelled in my eyes.
I couldn't see straight.
"Percy? Percy, what's wrong?" Apollo turned around and laid a hand on my forehead.
Just acting to be nice
I tried to talk, but all that came out was a harsh croak.
They don't really care for you
Something felt wrong, I couldn't get enough oxygen into my lungs.

It hurt as if Greek fire was burning my insides to ashes.
