falling.
chapter 28.
morning.
------------
I woke up next to alex, in his arms.

I loved him, but I had no idea what to do.

I had a text from my mom.

"hay kiddo, you and alex and whoever else can stop by whenever, Kay was breathing but never opened her eyes :/ however, when nurses tried to wake her this morning for breakfast she wouldn't budge, the machine showed she wasn't breathing. they revived her, she's breathing, but badly. it'll all fall into place. smile."

the text said.

I replied.

"we'll be there soon."

alex's arms where around me so I didn't want to move.

so I laid there.

"bails, I know your awake, I am too." he said without opening his eyes.

I smiled.

"any news about Kayla?" he said.

"she wasn't breathing but how she is. in and off," I said.

"you wanna head down there and get breakfast at the hospital cafe?" he said sitting up.

I nodded and got up.

I changed into black leggings and long sleeved crop top that was black and white striped.

I put my hair in a messy half up half down.

I walked downstairs and saw Alex's mom sitting in the coach.

"good morning Bailee! still staying with us?" she smiled.

"yeah yeah," I smiled.

"oh my gosh I'm so sorry about your sister!" his mom stood up and hugged me.

I smiled.

"she's doing better," I said.

"That's where we're headed mama." alex came around the corner and put his hand on my back.

I smiled at the gesture.

"okay, just text me kiddos. and remember tonight is my yearly party with Greg and a bunch of people," his mom smiled.

"oh yeah." Alex said.

"you can introduce everyone to Bailee!" she explained.

he smiled.

"yeah yeah, lets go." he said grabbing my hand.

we got to the hospital and sat in the chairs across from kaylas room.

I saw a lot of flowers next to her bed.

"flowers piled up in the worst way," I said.

alex grabbed my hand.

a lady with flowers and a 14 year old girl walked up to us.

"are you a Madison?" she asked.

I looked up at her.

"who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Melissa smith, this is kassi smith, where the family of carter smith." she said.

"who's that," I said rather rudely.

"oh, are you a Madison?" she asked.

"Kayla Madison? do you know her?" the lady asked.

tears came down my face.
