"Clara?"

Clara jumps at the sudden voice, turning around. She spots the eldest Mikaelson brother stand in front of the bar. She offers him a smile, leaning against the counter.

"Elijah, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

His dark eyes meet her's and he couldn't help but let his mind drift to the past.

"We didn't exactly leave on the best of terms."  He states after a brief pause.

She raises a brow. "Yes, not the best dinner I have ever gone too. In all honestly, I think I upset Klaus with my sudden leaving."

His brow knits together. "He didn't follow you out?"

She shakes her head. "No, but he can be very temperamental as you know."

Elijah gives a small nod, a little surprised by how well she seems to know his brother. There's a long pause as a silence drifts around them.

"Was there something you needed?" She questions uneasy under his stare.

He shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come here."

Before she can question him further he disappears from her sight, hurriedly heading out the door and down the street. After putting a good distance between him and the bar Elijah runs a hand through his hair.

"What am I doing?" He quietly questions under his breath.

His mind blending together the past and the present. No matter how much he wants to believe Clara is a doppelganger a small part of his mind is fighting against his logic. Perhaps Rebekah is right, perhaps he is just lying to himself so he doesn't have to deal with long forgotten feelings.

"Even if it truly is her, who's to say that the past won't just repeat itself?" He mumbles running his hand through his hair once more.

He needs to know, he has to know. However, he knew that there was only one person he could question about the matter; but he wasn't sure if his brother would be so open as to answering it.
