"This is the most useless grimoire I have ever seen," Rose exclaims.

"I spent nearly four painfully hours of magical binding, not to mention having five hex bags shoved down my throat. I didn't really have my wits about me to grab the proper one." Clara explains.

"It hasn't been too useless." Elijah begins, causing their eyes to him. "This grimoire has helped us remove all but one hex bag from Clara."

"So not a complete waste." Zek states from the far side of the room.

Rose glares over at him. "Do you want to do this?"

Zek leans his head up peeking over at her. "You know I'm not good with magic."

"Then don't interject your two sense into the conversation."

Zek grumbles, his head falling against the couch. Clara looks to her sister, eyes wide.

"Whoa, what happened to you?"

"You may not remember Sel-Clara, but our brother is impossible to travel with. I've spent days dealing with it and frankly, I could use a break."

Clara stares at her sister, mouth a gap. She shakes her head return her attention to the grimoire.

"This grimoire can't be completely useless, I took it from the altar after a broke my restraints."

"I thought we already covered its usefulness." Zek answer.

"Zek." Rose snaps. "Quiet."

Elijah bites back a smile at the siblings exchanged, curiously watching at how easily they fell back into their old ways. Zek rolls his eyes staring up at the ceiling.

"Why was she using it at an altar? The point of a grimoire is to eliminate the use of an altar."

"Zek." Rose hisses.

"Strong spells still require an altar," Elijah answers, quickly stopping the siblings bickering.

Zek quickly sits up looking to the group. "Okay fine, but Mother could do a binding spell in her sleep, and the hex bags, well they would have been made beforehand."

"How does that help us?" Rose questions angrily.

Zek jumps up, striding towards the group. "I think Mother binding Clara's magic was never the intention, to begin with."

"Then what was her intention?" Clara questions.

Zek glances over the book, looking at his sisters. "Rose is right, this grimoire is completely useless. Maybe because it's supposed to appear that way."

Rose's eyes widen. "A glamor! Zek that's bloody brilliant."

"But why bind my magic?" Clara questions.

"Because." Rose begins. "Because out of the three of us you are the most like to break it."

"Couldn't you break it?" Elijah questions.

Rose shakes her head. "I'm not nearly as strong as Clara." Her eyes drift over to her sister. "You can still use magic can't you?"

"Not well-"

"Every time she uses magic it attacks her." Zek cuts in. "Leaves those nasty burns on her arms. The more magic she uses the more burns appear."

Rose lets out a small gasp, everything clicking into place. "Clara." She begins. "Mother didn't bind your magic out of punishment, she didn't because you're the only one strong enough to undo everything she's done."
