Slowly, our lips unwillingly part and my eyes flutter open to find Draco's silvery grey orbs staring straight into my brown ones. My nerves float away like the stray dust particles dancing around us in the beams of moonlight, which illuminate his beautifully pale skin and give him an ethereal glow. An uncertain smile places itself upon his perfectly shaped lips whilst he gazes at me intently. I attempt to reciprocate, but only manage to produce a slightly lopsided grin and probably look like an idiot.
"You're so beautiful" He whispers, gently caressing my cheek with his slender fingers. A light blush spreads across my pallid cheeks. I drop my gaze to my hands that sit comfortably in my lap, playing with the soft material of my dress.
"Thank you... but I'm not beautiful" I murmur, still watching my hands fiddle with my skirt. His hand takes hold of my chin and tenderly lifts my head so that my eyes are looking directly into his once more.
"Don't you ever say that again" Draco speaks, anger evident in his deep voice. I blink in response, staring at him avidly. "You're the most beautiful thing in this world" He adds. His voice softer with a slight tone of vulnerability beneath his strong façade. I continue to stare at him, completely speechless.
"But... you're the most beautiful thing in this world" I reply, timidly reaching up and stroking his tussled blonde locks out of his face. He blinks rapidly, grey eyes widening as he watches me for a hint of humour or falsehood. "And, I mean it Draco" I smile, running the backs of my fingers down the side of his perfectly chiseled cheekbone. He lets out a long sigh, returning the smile and taking my small hands in his large ones.
"I love you, Toria" He utters, running his thumbs steadily across my knuckles. I feel my chest fill up with a warm feeling and my heart flutters at the sound of his confession.
"I love you too, Draco" This earns a wide, goofy grin from the blonde and he leans in to kiss me once more only to halt when the sound of his mother calling from downstairs echoes through the hallway. He groans loudly in disgruntlement.
"Coming, mother!" He shouts down the hall, before placing a quick kiss on my cheek. "I'll see you at the start of term" He speaks, standing from the windowsill and looking down at me with a smile proudly spread upon his lips. I nod in response, standing slowly and walking along the hallway with him.
Just before we reach the stairs, I reach out and grab his forearm to stop him. He halts immediately and looks back at me with a look of confusion etched upon his features. Hurriedly, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down to crash my lips against his. Almost instantly, his arms wrap around my slim waist and tug my body closer to his. His soft lips move steadily against mine, as my fingers grasp the hair at the nape of his neck. A gasp escapes my mouth as his tongue finds it's way in between my lips and gently explores my mouth, brushing against my teeth.
"Draco - Hurry up!" Lucius' voice shouts from downstairs, causing us to hastily pull apart. Breathing heavily, I lean against the wall and Draco decides to do the same. He brushes his hair out of his face, panting erratically.
"That was fun" He speaks, breathless with a smirk on his face. I nod in response, too out of breath and dazed to even form a coherent response. "Well... laters, baby" He stands up straight and with a cheeky wink disappears down the stairs, leaving me stood alone in the hallway, a complete and utter mess.
...
A long sigh escapes my lips as I drop my chin into my hand. Why did I even think taking Ancient Runes was a good idea? I'm bored out of my skull. When Professor Babbling tells us that the lesson is over and we may leave, I practically jump out of my seat and sprint out of the classroom, slamming into someone as I do so. And that someone just so happens to be none other than Draco Malfoy. His arms gently wrap around me to stop me from falling backwards, causing the crowded corridor to become a flurry of whispering. Pointed looks and glares are sent my way by girls that I don't even know and some that I'm pretty sure are only second or first years.
"Hey baby, did you miss me?" Draco smirks, pressing a swift kiss to my forehead before releasing me from his arms. I straighten the strap of my satchel with a smile as I look up at him.
"You know I did, but did you miss me?" I ask, as we start walking down the busy corridor towards the stairs.
"Of course, and is this okay?" He lifts our entwined hands up, which I hadn't even been aware of until this point. I nod, grinning up at him. We steadily descend the stairs, gaining more looks and whispers as we reach the entrance hall. "Do you want to come sit with me and Blaise?" He asks, stopping us just before we enter the Great Hall for dinner. I contemplate his offer before responding.
"I can't, Charlie made me promise in my owls that I'd sit with her first day back. Sorry" I apologise, earning a hard look from Draco.
"Don't apologise, it's alright, and I don't think Parkinson would be too kind to you if you sat with me" He responds, kissing me gently on the cheek. "See you later" And with that he walks into the hall, disappearing into the throng of students trying to seat themselves for dinner.
...
"So, are you and Draco dating or what? Like are you his girlfriend?" Charlie asks, hungrily shovelling a spoonful of chocolate cake into her mouth.
"I don't know. We act like we're dating, but we've not made it official yet" I sigh, glancing over at the Slytherin table to find Draco staring back at me. He blows a kiss, causing me to smile widely. I catch the kiss and put it in my pocket, earning a wink from him. My cheeks heat up slightly and I know I must be at least slightly red now. "I mean, after New Years we were owling each other everyday" I stab my own slice of chocolate cake with my fork and stuff the fluffy deliciousness into my mouth.
"Well, make sure you're official soon as other girls will start questioning you about it and it could get ugly" She speaks, hinting mostly to one ugly girl in particular, Pansy Parkinson.
Once I've finished eating my chocolate cake, I brush the crumbs off of my robes and go to stand only to be stopped by Charlie. She gives me a look of 'where are you going now?'.
"I'm going to see Draco in the Transfig courtyard. I won't be too late in to the dorm room, so don't stay up for me" I explain, standing up and climbing from the bench. Charlie winks at me and gives me two thumbs up, before I turn and head out of the noisy hall.
