Dear Edie

I didn't win the competition. I got second place and am so so disappointed. Some of the boys in my grade (who am I kidding? They all do) torment me all because I wore a skirt and sung It's Raining Men on national television. Girls think I'm weird and they stay away from me. At this rate I will never ever have a girlfriend.

Oh but there is a new boy named Andreas who seems ok! He always wears black and everyone just ignores him or calls him weird. Maybe he will want to be my new friend. I wish so much that Georg and Gustav went to my school because that would be so cool! And you as well of course. You would fit right in with us.

Did your mom really adopt Nolan?! Wow! That is great, he has a good mom now. What is new with your dad? Is he still drinking all the time? Did he get fired again?

Me and Tom have not seen our dad since before Christmas. We miss him sometimes but we are better off without him around. That is what Mom says to us all the time. And we have Gordon who is just like a dad because he is always there when we need him. But it is not the same.

Your friend,

Billy
