"Wow! He was a jackass!" I grumble once I walked into the kitchen.
"Table 4? Yeah he's a cheap ass." Mindy chuckled. I showed her the 50 cent tip I got from him and she just shook her head. "Typical. He comes in here every week and does this."
"Next time, he's getting a little something extra." I wink. We all laugh as we finish up for the day.
"You get ahold of your real parents yet sweetheart?" Mindy asked on our way to her car.
"Nope. The adoption agency said that they're looking into it."
"Didn't they say that about a month ago?"
"Yep. I call them every day and that's what they say. Other than 'nothing yet'." I frown.
"And what about that boy you've been talking about?"
"You mean the one I kissed three months ago? I heard nothing from him! It's like he forgot that I exist!"
"Well it doesn't help that you got a new number. Maybe you should call him. Explain to him what's going on..."
"Yeah I guess." I shrug. I look out the window in silence until we reach Mindy's place. She's been letting me crash with her till I can figure something out.
