The Darkness of the Night, the Blindness of the Light

I see a void,
A void of blackness.
That blackness is myself.
Never to be left alone,
Never to be let go.

I reach and pray for a light,
Something that will get me through the night.
Or at least a person who will save me from the dark,
Setting off my heart into a spark.

I know it'll never happen,
But a person can dream, right?
Even though my world will blacken,
I still carry on a fight.

You, thinking a life is a small matter,
People can end it with a clatter.
You think that your world is perfect,
You're far from seeing it reflect.

People end it with a gun in hand,
But you have your feet in the sand.
You care about yourself,
Your actions cause people to not be able to reach the highest shelf.

The world can be bright, but it can be dark.
You, with your words, make people's lives stark.
Hope you're having a good time,
For other people's lives are as sour as a lime.

It just shows that you're the darkness of the night,
And the people you hurt are trying to climb to the blinding of the light.
