I hear these in my head but smile it off like a joke.
I know it's not right,
I should be doing what makes me happy.
I shouldn't do what other people like,
I should be me, I should just stop putting up a fight!
But when I do, I feel crappy.
I'll give a fake smile to make a person's day,
I'll give a fake laugh while I disappear.
All that matters is that everyone else's alright,
That's just the way I am,
I'll keep a fake smile and do the best I can.
Some people can be so easygoing,
others are harder to figure out.
I've always grown up keeping busy knowing
how everyone is, but I'm not showing
how I am feeling left out.
Show me just a little compassion,
This is what I've only know all of my life.
I'm the one left out of the action,
out of the loop and
I just know you could cut it with a knife.
