"Oh, that's hard.. In no particular order, probably "Madness in Me" and "Monster" by Skillet and "Animal I Have Become," by Three Days Grace." Nico stared at me. "What?"

He shook his head. "Sorry, I just didn't take you for a rock guy."

I chuckled. "So.... Have you had a crush on anyone?"

"Er..yeah..." I marveled at the ways his pink cheeks contrasted against his pale olive skin.

"What's her name?" I asked curiously.

He hesitated for a moment. "Percy.."

The gears in my head started working. "So you're gay." He just nodded, eyeing me carefully through the hair that had fallen in his face. I found myself grinning. "Cool," I said. I actually have a chance with you, I didn't say. "Did it work out between you two?"

He shook his head with a lopsided smile. "No, he has a girlfriend. But it's okay, I'm over it. Just realized he's not really my type," he sighed, "So, what's your favorite color?"

I rolled my eyes. "I like bright colors. Okay, judging from what I already told you, would you guess about my life?"

"Um," he pondered for a moment, "You're rich, but I guess that's normal for vampires... You dad is probably a senator.... Pretty girlfriend, most likely.."

"Wait," I interrupt, "Girlfriend?" I didn't try to hide my amusement with the idea.

He looked confused. "Well, yeah. I mean, look at you." He gesture at me with both hands.

I smirked. "Are you calling me hot?"

His cheeks went bright red. "No! I mean, yeah, you're good looking... I meant no! I mean, I don't like you. I mean, I don't love you.. Well, of course not.. I mean, I don't like-like you. I mean–I am saying like too much; Dio, what am I doing?" He gave a frustrated sigh. "Perché sei così caldo?!" He yelled.

I started laughing. "What?"

"Nothing!" He was being unnecessarily loud now, and it was adorable.

"It sounded like Spanish," I noted.

"Italian, actually," he mumbled, eyes fixed on his lap. Why was he so dam cute?

"C'mon, tell me," I whined. He shook his head, so I took out my smartphone (brilliant inventions, these things). "I'll just translate it on my phone, then," I shook the device on his face. He eyes widened and he started to grab at my phone, but he stopped himself at the last second. I wondered why.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell you!" he sighed. "I said 'Why are words so hard?'" I didn't miss the way his eyes darted to the left, a clear sign of lying.

"Oh, okay," I chuckled.

"I have to use bathroom," he said, standing up quickly quickly. I'd already shown his where it was, so I didn't say anything.

As soon he was out of the room, I unlocked my phone and opened Google Translate. I used the voice recognition to enter what he'd said because I knew I'd never be able to spell it. My mouth quirked into a smile when I saw what I saw what it meant.

'Why are you so hot?'
