Chapter 23

I woke up Saturday morning to James kissing my lips. Opening my eyes, I smile at him. He was truly blessed. His hair was disheveled giving him the perfect morning hair. His eyes had a extra shine it in making his blue eyes pop even more. He was simply handsome. I liked that he stared at me as if I was the only thing that mattered to him.

"Morning beautiful" he said as he kissed my head top

"Morning" I said smiling at him. I wasn't sure what was the change in his attitude or behavior but it was refreshing.

"Get ready and come have breakfast with me" he said as he stood up and helped me off the bed

"Okay" I answered making my way to the master bathroom.

I took my time and got showered. I washed my hair making sure it had some type of body to it. Getting out the shower, I walked over to the sink and brush my teeth. Walking out the bathroom, I saw that James had laid out clothes for me to wear along with sexy bra and panties set from La Perla, Gucci heel sandal and bag.

I smile thinking he was so thoughtful. I put on the a-line white Nicole Miller dress before slipping my foot in the gold Gucci shoes. I looked around the room for my bag before transferring my things from the bag I had yesterday and put in it the new GG marmont velvet purple bag with gold detail. I walked back into the bathroom to blow out my hair and decided to leave it wavy. I put on mascara and lip gloss for the only makeup I needed before heading to the kitchen.

As I walked to the kitchen, I saw Sonya and James laughing about something between each other. I smiled at them, happy to see them at least talking considering what happen yesterday.

As I walked to the kitchen, I noticed two suitcase by the door.

"Who's suitcases is that?" I asked James as I sat down next to him

"Ours, we're going to the Hampton for the weekend and returning on Monday morning"

"Oh what a nice surprise" I said kissing him on his lips

"That's what I hoped for" he said

Hearing the phone ring, Sonya answered it. Turning back to us, Sonya let James know it was for him.

"I'll be right back love. It's a international call I've been waiting on." He said as he instructed Sonya to transfer the call to his office phone and waking off

Leaving the two of us in the kitchen, I felt like I had to apologize to Sonya

"Sonya I'm sorry about putting you in that position with James because you told me something. But I didn't tell him anything you said"

"It's okay dear, it was partly my fault telling you that anyways"

"No you don't have to apologize for anything. It's cool Sonya. Thank you for telling me about James bestfriend that died. He explained it to me"

"What friend that died?" She asked looking at me lost

"Sean. You told me there was a murder in his last relationship and James told me if was his bestfriend Sean" I said to her in a low voice looking over my shoulder

"I was not speaking of Sean dear. His last serious girlfriend Blake Wellington was murdered. It's still being investigated although it's turned into a cold case."

"What?" I said shocked at her

"Yeah please be careful" she said before turning to the stove to clean it up

I had officially lost my appetite after that news. I was so lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice James had returned to the kitchen. When he kissed my temple, I jumped a bit as I was caught off guard.
