'I still don't get it.'

'It's not human, isn't that enough of an explanation?'

'It's not logical!'

'Why does it need to be logical, Spock?' Daisy teased.

We were discussing the Time Lord technology stuff - the way it's bigger on the inside, but just looks like wood from the outside.

'It's not... Right!'

'What's that supposed to mean?'

'It can't happen!'

'Fourteen years, and you still haven't changed a bit, have you?' Said Daisy, smiling hand shaking her head.

'Neither have you,' I pointed out.

'We don't get a chance to change, do we?'

'Doesn't that ever bother you?' I asked. 'Everything is always exactly the same! Nothing changes, we don't change.'

'Why would we need to change?'

'Because,' I said. 'Nothing is different, ever. So I lose interest.'

'It's better than being trapped on Earth learning normal things. We're training to be spies or army people.'

'True.' I agreed.

'But, Earth-people stuff isn't as boring as it could be. I mean, those Earth-people films we've seen, their interpretations of extraterrestrial life. Like Star Trek. They have pretty... Interesting ideas, don't they?'

'Well, we're Earth-people, aren't we?'

'Yes,' I said fairly. 'But we're interesting.'

'And, to be honest, we did learn all the Earth-people stuff.' Said Daisy.

'Yeah, we did, except for the fact that we were just so much younger, smarter, and we learnt a heck of a lot quicker.'
