*Vivian's POV*

I have been sitting in my room for the last half an hour. Makeup artists surround me with their tools, creams and makeup, whatever. Makeup is pasted on my face just to give me a charming look for tonight. It is another ritual of the wedding. Mehandi and sangeet.

I feel claustrophobic with the situation. Why are there so many arrangements for a single night? I am extremely bored.

"Are, yaar kab hoga yeh? [Oh, when will this finish?]" I abruptly ask.

"Sir, just 2 minutes." One of the guys informs me. This is not ending anytime soon.

"Yeh 2 minutes tum pichle 10 minute se keh rahe ho! [You have been saying 2 minutes since the last 10 minutes!]" I complain.

"Almost done, thoda aur [little bit more]...." He says.

I think until his 2 minutes are over I should distract myself. Nowadays my fiancé is a big distraction. Pictures of the few nights before keep flashing in my mind.

"Hogaya sir! [Done, sir!]" The beautician cuts off my naughty thoughts. Now he is done. Idiot, doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Mom comes in and says that we are leaving for the bride's house in an hour. I cannot wait to marry Maya, why are there so many rituals to follow? I just want to make her mine.

*Maya's POV*

"Lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner, eyeliner, kajal, foundation, blush, eye shadow, necklace, anklets, bangles, Bindi? (An Indian jewelry ornament worn in hair) Where is the Bindi?" Mom shouts.

Yes, my mother is checking my dress and makeup for tonight. She warns the beauticians that nothing should be missing and the young girls are being scolded by my mother. She is so strict during my makeover for sangeet. I can only imagine what'll happen on my marriage.

"The blue one mom, woh sari pe perfect jaiegi! [The blue one mom, it will go perfect with the saree!]" I suggest.

"Kitni pyaari lag rahi hai meri bacchi. Kisi ki nazar na lag jaaye. [My child is looking so pretty.]" Mom says and blackens her ring finger with the mascara in her eyes and imprints its mark on my neck. I feel so different, better.

"Yes come on, fast!" Mom suddenly yells. A fit of giggles leave my mouth because of her strictness.

"Mom, quick we are-"

Ritz bursts into my room but cuts off whatever she is saying only to praise me. "Wow! The sari is very shiny but it looks beautiful on you! Maya you look great!"

"Yes, Maya di bahot khubsurat lag rahi ho!! But bua hum batane aaye the ki hum sabne Mehandi lag wali hai, bus Maya di hi baki hai. [Yes, Maya di you look very beautiful! But aunt, we came here to tell that we all got our mehandi done, only Maya di is left.]" Miara informs.
