CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

Once Hydra was positive I would not dare disobey they reinforced that feeling. Something about surgery and tests, something that they gave the Winter Soldier.

If I knew then what I have now I would have fought back harder.

My punishment was for them to have total control of my arms, by removing them and giving me metal ones. Then they wiped my memory.

Sit still or you will be punished.

Do not speak or you will be punished.

Do not fight or fight back or you will be punished.

Do not ask questions or you will be punished.

Listen or you will be punished.

Do everything they say or you will be punished.

They do not pull punches.

They do not "go easy" on anyone.

If you annoy them then they have permission to kill.

If you fight back they will kill you.

Of course every once in awhile they allowed me to go on missions, to assassinate enemies, or to do some training.

"You have a new mission." Mr. Roe handed me my long range sniper rifle.

"What is it?"

"Tony Stark. Do not kill, we're sending a message."

"The location?"

"Stark Industries.

"Yes sir." I nodded.

"Strike team seven will watch you and transport you."

"Yes sir."

"Strike team seven move!" He boomed.

Immediately five guys surrounded me. I cocked the rifle and we all headed out to New York.

I set up a few blocks down from Stark's speech, once he was finished I shot once to the ground in front of the man then once to the shoulder.

Then I packed up and the strike team escorted me back to base.

The reporters went crazy, flashing photos, not one of them actually went to help the man.

Two people ran to help him, a woman and a teenage girl.

"Who are they?" I questioned.

"Not important." One of the team members grunted.

I nodded and faced forward again, if someone said that something wasn't important, that meant I would be punished if I pushed it more. I had already asked too many questions.
