Chapter 18 Suits & Dresses

  LYDIA POV

            Ever since Nathan made that big scene the other day about asking me to the winter formal the whole school has been talking about it. I haven't even talked to Nathan since then and the formal is this Saturday which is tomorrow. I also have been getting a lot of attention from many of the guys on the football team. (Not that I am complaining though)

              On my way to lunch, I made eye contact with Nathan from across the room. None of us move or did anything until I got the courage to give him a big smile and wave at him. Nathan didn't wave back but he gave me a small smile before walking away. I went to go sit down with Megan, and she looked really excited. "Okay Lydia after school meet me at my locker so we can go dress shopping for tomorrow." Oh crap! "Megan I can barely afford to go buy a dress why did I even say yes to Nathan if I had nothing to wear?" I said hoping to get me out of the dress shopping problem, but of course Megan was a problem solver like always. "Don't worry my mom friend owns the store that we are going to so you can get the dress for free." Rolling my eyes at her I finally agreed to go get dresses with Megan after school. I don't mind getting clothes and dress but lets just say that Megan is picky when it comes to clothes.

        After school, Megan gave me a ride to the store and she kept on talking about how the formal is going to be so exciting and how we both finally got asked out. While for me I am calm acting pretty cool well probably since I kinda already know Nathan so I don't think its a big deal. When we got to the store I also found out that they sell tuxes too, that's cute. When we walked into the store Megan tugged me to the back of the place and threw random dresses in my arm and told me to try them on. No matter how cute all these dresses are I know that I cannot rock any of them.

         After trying many, many dresses, I could not find one that was the one. I slipped on the last dress for now. It was a strapless pink dress that is knees length with little roses design at the bottom. I was right again, I do not look good in this dress, better than the others but not the best. I stepped out of the changing room and Megan was looking somewhere else. Before I knew it, Megan stuffed me back into the changing room and whisper, "Stay in here and be quiet!"

  Nathan POV

                The moment I got home from school I crashed on the couch and closed my eyes. Minutes after that, I heard Liam come through the door. He sat on the couch next to me and turned on the T.V. I was starting to enjoying myself. "Are you excited to take Lydia to the formal?" Liam asked me. Before I could say anything back, my mom came running into the room all excited. "Oh my gosh Nathan you are taking Lydia to the formal. That's so cute!" she gushed out, I looked over to give Liam a glare. My mom gets excited when I get a date to anything but since its Lydia this time, its going to be so much worst. "Nathan do you have your tux yet?" I looked over to my mom and nicely answer her. "No, I am not planning to wear one either. I am going to wear that blue button up shirt that you gave me for the New Years. Maybe even those dress pants from last year." My mom threw a stash of money at me with a card. "What is this for?" I asked her. "You and Liam are going to buy tuxedos since the formal is tomorrow, and you two have nothing to wear. If you two don't come back with the tuxes I will go to your guys’ room and break your Xbox!" With that she walked away, I love my dear old mother ways of punishing us. I looked over at Liam and said, "Lets go."  

         By the time we got to the store I found out that this place also sells dresses, maybe we will find some girls in there. I followed Liam into the store and heard whispering in the back. "Megan is that you?" Liam asked, my head snapped over to where he was looking and it was Megan. She came walking towards us looking worried. "What are you guys doing here? You guys have to leave now!" Before I could say anything Liam spoke up. "Sorry babe but we need to get tuxes since out Xbox is on the line here." Megan gave us a confused looked before talking again. "But Lydia and I are getting dresses and you can't see us in them! It’s like bad luck!" My head popped up when I felt the presence of someone else in the room and it was Lydia walking to us with a confused look "Megan can you please tell me why you stuffed me in the changing room?" Megan did one of the hardest face palm I have ever seen. "Lydia! you were suppose to hide in the room until I told you it was clear! They can't see you in this dress." I looked over at Lydia checking her out, she was wearing a short pink dress that reveal a lot of skin. I think I might be staring at her body too long, but who cares she is really hot in that dress. "You know a picture would last longer." Lydia pointed at me, I smirked at her and said, "So you don't mind if I take a picture." All she did was roll her eyes at me and put her attention back to Megan. "Megan its no big deal and plus I am not going to wear this dress to the formal so don't worry." Dang it! I was hoping Lydia would wear that dress. Lydia smirked probably since she saw how my face expression dropped. "Alright then girls, we will let you guys get back to your stuff and if you need us we will be on the other side of the store." Liam said while winking at Megan, which by the fact made her turn red. Why aren't they together yet?

            I am freaking bored right now, I am sitting in a chair while the lady is trying to find a tux my size. I kept looking over glancing at Lydia wearing so many different dresses. But I can't believe that she embarrasses me in front of the whole school, all the guys think I am 'whipped' since I got on my knees for her. Why does she enjoy doing this to me? But yet I don't mind she's one of the first girl I met that has her own mind and is not afraid to use it. "Excuse me sir, but I have your tux ready now." I stood up looked over at Liam and we were both ready to get out of this place. Before I left the store I turned around to make eye contact with Lydia and blew her a kiss that made her froze. I left the store chuckling and satisfied.
