Should I forgive you?

        I woke up with bright lights shining in my eyes. I know I am not in a hospital bed. But this bed that I am laying in feels so familiar. It better not be where I think I am. But yes of course I am in Nathan bedroom.

       I slowly got up, but I still feel really dizzy. Each second, I work on standing up to the point where I am able to walk. As I made my progress towards the door, I ran into someone.

       "Where do you think you are going?" I looked up to see who it was and it was Nathan. Ugh!

       "Anywhere but here." I snapped back at him.

       "Um not you are not. You are very weak right now. I’m going to get you something to eat."

       "No don't bother I'm not even hungry." Nathan rolled his eyes, then picked me up and placed me on his bed. Why the heck does he care for me now? I mean he could of just let me lay there on the ground passed out.

       When Nathan came back, in one hand he had a cup of OJ and in the other, he had a plate of apples. He set the food on the side table, but I just pushed the plate away.

       "Okay, what will it take for me to get you to eat?"

       I just ignored Nathan and just started to glared at the blank wall. Well it wasn’t blank, it was filled with pictures of Nathan and I on our dates or just hanging out in general. Why didn't he take down the pictures yet? I mean we are probably not going to get back together anytime soon.

       "Lydia if you don't eat I will find another way for you to eat, and you don't want me to do that."

       I glanced over that the plate, and took a slice of apple and slowly ate it. I don't hate eating fruits but it is not the first choice that I will take. Minutes had past and I finally finished my plate of apples and the cup of Orange Juice. It's also kind of hard to eat especially when Nathan just sit there and stares at me.

       I stood up up not feeling dizzy anymore and I headed out the door.

       "Lydia wait! I think we should talk." I stopped but I think I will be doing the talking this time.

       "Why should we talk? I mean you made it clear last time that  we shouldn't be together. Dating you was just a waste of time."

       Nathan didn't even make an expression, I was kind of hoping he would. "No you don't. Even though it didn't work out between us I bet you don't regret it, because I don't."

       "I do think it was a waste of time. You know why? Because we been through a lot together and then you just out of nowhere break up with me without talking to me. This could have been a simple breakup, where I will be sad but happy for you. But No! You just had to cause a big mess and I don't know if I can forgive you."

       I think that was the meanest thing I have ever said to him. But I don't care anymore, but he was right at one thing. I didn't regret our relationship.

       It was the last day of school, well for everyone except the seniors and Nathan of course. They all ended a few days before we did. I haven't talked to Nathan ever since our last incident happened. I mean I got over it and stuff,but I really don't want to end on a bad note with Nathan.

       The final bell rang in class and everybody jumped up with excitement and gleam in their eyes. School was finally over and we would get to go on summer break. I would finally get tonight-well most off tonight off from working at the cafe since I still need to go to Liam and Nathan graduation. I'm so happy for the boys even though only one of them should be graduating.

                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
       I am now sitting in the crowd with Megan and Liam and Nathan parents at the graduation. Megan was doing fine with Liam. In fact he got accepted to a university close by and is able to play college soccer for the school too. So he will still be living at home and Megan and him are very happy together.
       "Liam Johnson!" called the principal.
       Megan and I jumped up with excitement yelling for him and started hold a sign up with his name.
       "Nathan Johnson!" Nathan stood up and started to head towards the stage. Megan was going wild for him while I just stood up and clapped for him. Nope he does not get a sign. 'Before I give Nathan his diploma I would like to say that Nathan is a great student who gets the honor of being here today. He started off as a junior and ended his year as a senior with a football scholarship. This school is proud to have him as a student here. Now here his Nathan Johnson with a speech."
       "Hi everybody, there are lots of people that I would like to thank. My mom and dad, my brother Liam, and my friend Megan." Should I be offended that he did not mention me?
       "But I don't want to do that long list of thanking people. In high school there are so many adventures you have. People you meet and even maybe love. For me all of that has happened. But I made one mistake that ruined everything. I know I can never fix that mistake but there is only one thing I can say. Lydia I'm sorry."
       I stood there in shock, did Nathan just really apologize to me? Out of everything that he said, he choose to make it about me. And in front of parents and students too.
                                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

       After everything was over I headed back to the cafe. It was one of the busiest nights ever. So many families and high school students were there. I was on a roll, working on making the drinks while taking many people. Around 11 the cafe started to clear out. I am so ready to go home right now.

       "Hey, am I still able to get something?" asked someone

       "Yeah! What can I get you." I asked without looking at the customer.

       "I would like for your forgiveness." It was Nathan. I froze in my spot, I never really thought about his speech ever since I got here and started working. "Lydia you know we have to talk about this. I mean if we can't be together I still want to be in your life."

       "Yeah I want to be your friend too. Thank you for apologizing in your speech but you didn't have to do that. There was so many other things you could of said but you didn't. That means a lot to me." I told Nathan.

       "We may not be the same as we use to be, but I still care about you and that will never change."

       I went up to Nathan and gave him a hug, at first he tensed up a little bit but then responded back and wrapped his arm around me. This was wrapping up to be a really good night.

       It has been a couple of weeks since Liam and Nathan graduation, Nathan was finally getting ready to leave.. We have been spending the last couple weeks hanging out together. I mean things did get awkward between us at times but it's nice to at least have him as my friend.

       "Lydia, wanna go say your goodbyes to Nathan?" asked Ms.Johnson

       I walked up to Nathan and gave him a big hug. "Have fun in college and good luck with football." I told him.

       "Bye Lydia I may not be here with you for awhile but I will always be there with you. I am going to miss you."

        With that Nathan walked away, and the rest of us continued on with life.
