Chapter 20 'Are we even dating?'

For the weekend I spent most...actually all of my time at home. James came over to visit me and my mom, trying to get back in my life again. But no matter what he lost his chance, but I don't really give a crap anymore. But my mind kept on leading back to what happened on Saturday, where Nathan actually kissed me. I haven't seen him since then but we have school today.

        I could not stay awake today at school. My eyes were heavy and it’s the worst day for the teachers to give us a lecture in class. I mean its Monday for crying out loud ahh! The worst part about today was that Megan kept on fan-girling since I told her what happen after Nathan and I ditch the formal.

“Nathan and I kissed,” I told her immediately after Nathan dropped me off. “AHHH! I KNEW IT! YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE!” Megan screeched. She wouldn’t stop smiling and talking about it. “You guys kissed,” she sang. Over and over and over and over….

To be honest I wouldn't say we are official or anything it was just one kiss right? I seriously don't know why I am thinking of the worst scenarios for this problem. Oh well, it beats paying attention in history so yeah this works. But also I can't wait for this week to be over since winter break is coming up. I have no plan for break but I enjoy staying home doing nothing. Once the bell rung, I was more than excited but still its not the end of the day yet, and the best part is that finals starts tomorrow. So much studying to do tonight and the rest of the week ugh. Is it too much to ask for no finals?

       On my way to lunch I was chatting with Megan while she told me what happen during to her during the formal. Right now I want to smack Liam in the face. It is so clear that he likes her and Megan is being so oblivious about it. Grabbing a bag of chips and juice I sat down with Megan and we were planning out the schedule of studying for the week. "Hey Lydia." I turned around and saw Nathan. "Hey Nathan." I thought this would be awkward but nope, not really. "So on Friday I was thinking that we should go on our first date." Oh my god wow! "Nathan I don't remember us being an official couple? No one ever asked yet..." I had another chance to mess with Nathan and I am taking it. I looked over to Megan and she had a big smile planted on her face, then Nathan chuckled at me. "Don't worry I know what to do." He took my hands, pulled me out of my seat and went down on his knees. Once again the cafeteria went quiet, I thought he was actually joking. "Lydia will you please be my girlfriend?" Oh my god he actually did it, the pressure is now on me. I only said the words that would pop out of my mouth. "Yeah I would like to be your girlfriend." The whole cafeteria cheered while I am this close to turning red and the look on Nathan face was great. I actually never seen him smile like this before. My hand was still locked in his, and we both sat down back at my table. I looked at Megan and she had a stupid grin on her face. "Aw! You two are just too cute." "So today at 6 are you coming to my house?" I asked trying to change the subject, which worked by the way. "Yeah" said Megan, I looked over at Nathan. "Hey Nathan want to come over too, to study for the finals?" Before Nathan could reply Megan stepped in. "Wait What? If he comes then I will be third wheeling and then I will be a loner!" I have a solution, I scan the cafeteria until I came across Liam. "Hey Liam! Come Here!" I yelled across the room, Liam made eye-contact with me then started walking to our table. "Hi?" I looked at Liam and invited him to our study group. "Hey Liam since it is finals this week I know you are a year ahead of us but want to come over to my place tonight to study?" Liam acted like he was thinking for awhile, but I know he was going to say yes. "Um sure yeah I like to study with you guys."

      For the rest of the day I was picking up study packets for the week and making extra copies for Megan and Nathan. They should be thankful that they have me, I am spending my study hall hour and free period doing this for them. Ever since Nathan asked me out at the cafeteria a lot of people has been talking to me, not that I mind though its nice to have people to talk to everywhere you go. I really liked Nathan too but I just never expected him to ask me out, well that or I don't have big hopes.

       Later at night when everyone came over it was non stop studying. We took quite a few snack breaks here and there but it was mainly going through physics stuff for science since that is the first test we are taking tomorrow. I hate science and I am not planning on being a doctor or anything. I felt a bit bad for Liam, since he was  year older than us so he had to do everything on his own and I didn't get him a study packet for his subjects. On the bright side Megan is not third-wheeling. "Okay I think I am done for the night," said Megan. She started to pack her stuff up and was getting ready to leave. "Hey I will take you home," Liam said to Megan. I didn't really pay attention from what happened next but I just knew Megan accepted his offer and they both left. "Well its just you and me..." said Nathan.

        After cleaning up all of paper all over my bedroom floor, I found Nathan sitting on my bed texting somebody. I then walked over to sit next to him, "Hey what do you want to do?" I finally got Nathan attention and he turned over to look at me. "Um do you want to watch a movie?" he asked. Yeah I love movies. What movie do you want to watch?" I started to get really impatient once Nathan was whistling and trying to think of a movie to watch. "Let's watch that horror movie 'The Conjuring' I heard it was good." "Absolutely not! I hate horror movies." I replied a bit too fast back at him. Nathan raised an eyebrow at me and then smirked. "You're scared, aren't you?" "What is wrong with being scared of horror movies? It is not a bad thing so don't rub it in." Nathan then grabbed me and pulled me to his side while wrapping his arms around me. "Aw don't worry little baby, if you get scared I will protect you." "You know that's cute and funny since if a killer ever comes after us I would not protect you." I said smirking. "you're cute." Nathan said while laying down on my bed. I then jumped on Nathan chest that cause a grunt to come out. "Whoops sorry." I sweetly said back. "Lets skip the movie for tonight and just stay like this." I nodded in agreement and rested my head on his chest with his arms around me.

                   This whole week has been a pain in the butt, the tests were not easy at all and the studying was not fun. I am just glad that I only have a few more minutes left of this class before all finals were done and winter break here we come. The moment the bell rung everyone in the class cheered, including me. Since it was finals day and last day before break they are letting us be released early. I ran to my locker and started to quickly stuff my books in my backpack. "Why are you in a hurry?" a voice said from behind which made me jump and dropped all of my stuff. I turned around to see the one and only...Nathan. "Look at what you did! Now pick that up!" "Nah, I think I am just going to stand here." I rolled my eyes at Nathan then bent down to pick up my books. "So Lydia...I was thinking we should go on a date tonight." "I don't know, is that the right way to ask a girl out on a date?" Nathan then rolled his eyes at me. "I am not getting down on my knees and asking you again. If you don't like it then you might want to find a new boyfriend." "Then maybe I will find a new boyfriend." I jokingly said back. "So on we on for the date." I nodded my head at Nathan then asked him a question, "Do I need to wear anything fancy?" Nathan started to chuckled at me, "No you can wear anything and I would never take you out to a fancy restaurant since you hate them."
