Chapter 38 - Overboard

You shuttered.

"You again?" you snarled. "Didn't we get rid of you?"

You felt a strap wrap around your wrists. Before you could react, he flipped you over and grabbed your ankles.

"You tried." Jackson said, slamming your ankles together to tie them. "Thanks to Yoongi, everyone is on the run."

You tried to kick him, but he grabbed onto you tight and wrapped another strap around your ankles with amazing speed. You didn't want to know how he could tie someone up so quick.

He dragged you forward and put duct tape over your mouth before you could scream. He grabbed your face in his hand. "If Yoongi didn't like you so much, I wouldn't have to do this. Now it's only fair that I finish my job."

He lifted you up and flung you over his shoulder. You kicked both your legs into his stomach, which made him crumple and drop you. Unfortunately even though he had let go, you couldn't get away with your arms and hands tied. He slapped you across the face.

"You keep making everything so difficult."

He then picked you up and carried you bridal style, avoiding your attacks. It was too difficult to fight back with everything tied up, and you couldn't break away.

He carried you out of the gardens and down to the lake. Your eyes widened. Was he really going to...?

He dragged you to the boat, dropping you inside. The back of your head and your tailbone hit the bottom of the boat hard, causing you to curl up in pain. He started the boat, tearing out from the dock and into the lake.

You looked around, seeing nothing but black as the lights of the castle got further away from you. The lake was terrifying as it stretched out like a black blanket.

Once you got further out, your assailant stopped the boat, leaving the engine on. He stomped back to you, and leaned down.

"This is where we part ways, pretty princess." he said.

He sat you up to look at him. You squirmed as his eyes pierced into you.

"It's a shame we couldn't spend more time together." he said, his finger coming up to your jaw and tracing it. "But you really are too much maintenance for me. I think it's best we see other people. A single kiss will have to do."

He gave you a rough kiss on the cheek as he picked you up and threw you over the side. Water rushed into your nose, and you struggled to get your hands or legs free. You thrashed in the water, trying to at least bob back to the surface for air. You heard the motor of the boat as it left you.

You were going to die here.

You spun as best you could and reached the surface, getting a half breath of air before turning face down in the water.

In that moment, all your memories of your time at the castle hit you.

In that moment, you knew exactly what you wanted.

You knew who you wanted to save you.

You knew what choice you wish you had made.

But none of it mattered. You were going to drown here.
