My eyes flow from one art exhibit to the next
and for a moment, my mind switches off.
I don't think about Orsai,
I don't think about Father,
I don't think about Lucas or school,
I don't think.
And as we make our way out,
led by our mothers,
Mei, Kiya and I stop at the gallery giftshop
and my fingers are drawn to
something small and grey-
