Ocares wasn't too far away, but it did take quite a bit of time to get there. I arrived at the entrance to the kingdom and a guard stopped me at the gate. "Who are you?" He asked. I hopped off of my horse.

"I'm Prince Daniel of Alaeni. I've come to see Prince Phillip," I explained. He looked at me warily. He sent the other guard into the kingdom. "I must get permission from the Prince to allow you in," he told me.

After a few minutes, the other guard came back and they allowed me in. One of the guards led my horse to a post where he then attached a lead to her, connecting her to the post so that she couldn't run away. I walked to the entrance of the castle and saw Phil standing there. I rushed over, pulling him into a hug. "Woah, hey," he laughed out, hugging back. "What are you doing here? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you just didn't tell me you were going to come here-" He rambled on after we pulled away. I stopped him, "Sorry, I just could not stay there. I needed to get out for a while. Can I explain inside?"

"Of course, come on in," he said as he led me inside. He shut the large door behind us, leading me down a corridor to his room. "So, explanation?" Phil asked as we got into his room. I sighed, "it's my parents. They suddenly said that they had picked a girl for me to marry even though they had earlier said they would let me go until age nineteen before they did that." Phil nodded understandingly.

"I'm sorry, Dan," he spoke. I have a sad smile. "It'll be okay.. I will figure something out," I told him. "It really should be your choice," Phil said causing me to nod. I looked down.

"I kind of do already have a choice, but I do not think my parents would approve," I stammered out. When I looked back up, Phil looked a bit confused. "Why would they not approve?" He questioned. "Because, uh, well-" Phil cut me short, speaking, "Dan. I am not like your parents. Trust me, I could never be nearly as judging. It is okay to tell me." I nodded, biting my lip before speaking again.

"It is because..." My voice faltered as I spoke and I looked at Phil again who looked completely and utterly sympathetic. I took a deep breath. Before I could think too hard, I moved forward, crashing my lips into his.
