Before I could think too hard, I moved forward, crashing my lips into his.
He didn't pull away, but I didn't leave much time for him to change his mind. "Because it's you," I whispered, our faces close together. I could feel his breath against my face. "See, I told you it was okay to tell me," he grinned.
"So.. do you feel the same?" I questioned. Phil stayed quiet for a minute or so before answering, "Yes." I smiled and moved in to kiss him again until he put his hand on my chest, keeping me pushed away. "But," he started. My smile faded. "You are right. Your parents would not approve.. and I am not sure that mine would either. I do not see how it could work out in our favor," he continued. I shook my head.
"I don't care. We can leave this place.. We can go off on our own. We can.." I tried, but to no avail. "Dan.. you know we cannot just do that.. We're both next in line for the thrones," Phil said. "But neither of us want to rule! We can get away from this! We can be together, Phil," I again tried convincing him.
"It's not that easy.." Phil hesitated. I looked down, defeated. "We could try.. I'll try, if that's what you want, Dan," he admitted, putting a hand on the side of my face. I looked up at him, looking into his ice blue eyes. I placed my lips lightly onto his, kissing him softly. He kissed back with the same tenderness. I put my hand on the back of his head, pulling him closer delicately. I pulled away, eyes still closed and our foreheads resting against each other's.
"Please, try this. I need you with me on this," I pleaded. He nodded, "Of course."
