22. First Fight

I woke up this morning feeling the best that I've felt in a long time. I rolled over and saw that Dave was still asleep. I smiled and kissed his lips before carefully slipping out of bed. I put on Dave's shirt and headed downstairs to make breakfast. I took out a couple of pots and pans and then put on Pandora. Nobody Else But You x Trey Songz started playing and I started making breakfast. As the music was playing, I couldn't help but sing along since I was in such a good mood.

As I was singing and cooking, I couldn't help but feel arms around me. I smiled already knowing who it was. Dave wrapped his arms around my waist and his chin on my shoulder. He then started singing in my ear making me blush.

I couldn't help but smile. I put the bread in the skillet and started cooking French toast. I turned around and instantly felt Dave's lips against mine. I was taken by surprise and couldn't help but kiss back. The make out session continued for another minute before I had to take out the toast out of skillet. Once the last piece of toast was on a plate, breakfast was done.

"Morning." I said.

"Morning beautiful." Dave said kissing my cheek and neck. "What's for breakfast?"

"French toast and fruit." I said. "You hungry?"

"I am, but I'm hungry for you." Dave said.

I blushed. "Dave seriously, you're gonna need to eat something."

Dave bit his lip. "I'll eat you."

Before giving me the chance to say anything else, Dave had already pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back trying hard not to give in, but it didn't work. Dave lifted me up and carried me over to the table. Dave kissed my neck and I started to moan. I really wanted him to eat but he was making it difficult for me. Dave's hands went up my shirt and gripped my breast. He started pinching my nipple and I just squealed. Before things continued, there was a knock on the door which couldn't come at a worse time.

"Fuck." Dave grunted.

I got off the table and went back to making our plates while Dave went to answer the door.

"Veronica!" Dave shouted.

I rolled my eyes and went to go see what was going on. To my surprise, it was Lottie and Nasir. I looked at Lottie's face and knew something was wrong. I didn't know what it was just yet.

"Lottie? Nasir? Whats going on?" I asked.

It looked like Lottie had been crying. "I'm so sorry Roni."

"What happened?" I asked.

"We were at the house last night and we thought we heard someone break in, but this morning..." Nasir started.

"This morning I walked in the backyard and found Bash. I'm so sorry Roni, but Bash is dead." Lottie admitted.

My heart completely sank. Bash couldn't be not after him living for so many years. I know that bitch Liya killed him and I want her to die for what she's done. Everyone was looking at me, waiting for me to response, but I didn't know how. The next thing I knew was I felt tears streaming down my eyes. Dave pulled me into a hug and I just melted, crying in his arms.

"Is there anything that we can do?" Dave asked.

"No." I pulled away from Dave. "I know she did this. She did to get back me and you."

"Me? What do you mean?" Dave asked.

I sighed. "I didn't want to tell you this because I wanted to protect you."

"Tell me what?" Dave questioned.

"When Liya was about to release me, she told me to give you a message. She told me to tell you that the fire was an amazing sight." I admitted.

Dave didn't say anything for a minute, but in an instant he opened the door. I looked at him confused.

"Get out!" Dave said.

"Excuse me?" I questioned.

"Get the fuck outta my house." Dave yelled.

"Dave..."

"GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY HOUSE BEFORE I THROW YO ASS OUT!" Dave demanded.

I said nothing and grabbed all my stuff before leaving his house. Dave slammed the door and I stood outside embarrassed with Lottie and Nasir. They both looked at me confused and probably pitied me. Before I knew it, I got into the car and Lottie drove me home. When I got inside the house and up to my room, a rain of guilt flooded over me and I just started crying. I fell down to the floor and curled up into a ball bawling my eyes out.

I slammed door in Veronica's face and headed into the living room. I turned on the TV and a few seconds later, Nasir joined me on the couch. I knew what he was going to say, but right now I didn't want to hear it.

"You good?" Nasir asked.

"Yea." I said.

"Dave..."

"Stop, just stop. I already know what you're gonna say. I was wrong for kicking her out and for leaving her outside." Dave said. "But she lied to me."

"She had her reasons." Nasir said.

"So you're taking her side?" I asked confused.

"No." Nasir said. "But I'm not taking yours either."
"So what if Veronica lied to you. She is not the one who killed your family Liya is and I know better than anyone how much the Brewsters meant to you, how much they meant to us. But Veronica knows your pain because she also lost her family, the only family she ever had. So don't be an asshole and push away the best thing that's ever happened to you."

Listening to what Nasir was saying and he was right. I know what I did was wrong and how I handled the news. I should've have handled it better. Veronica didn't deserve what I did to her, but she shouldn't have kept this secret from me. It makes me wonder what other secrets she's hiding from me.
