"Don't just sit like that, Mukund! I'm about to die in anxiety here." Anahita hissed in a low tone, sneaking glances around to make sure nobody heard her, except for the man in front of her.

She looked at him and found him typing on his phone, leaning back in his chair. It hit her like bull. Smoke came out of her ears as she gritted her teeth, drawing daggers on him.

"What are the hell are you doing? Did you even listen to a word I spoke?"

Mukund finished replying to his mails and put the phone on the table before looking at her patiently. "I heard each and every complaint you had. I don't know if I should feel glad or offended that it wasn't about me." He shrugged, feigning confusion. "You are being dramatic, as always."

Anahita puffed her face, stung. She leaned back in her chair as well, tearing out the napkin from the tissue box, "Huh, you don't understand, do you?" She looked at him, accusingly. "You promised to marry me. Do you even remember that?"

It was Mukund's turn to look offended, "So you believe that I will betray you?"

Anahita immediately sobered, whimpering like a child and hating the way it's turning out. "No. That's not what I meant."

She opened her mouth but closed it on a second thought. Things were just becoming more complex. She sighed and dropped her gaze to the extravagant dish Mukund had ordered for them. What a pity! Neither of them took even a bite.

Partly she blamed herself, but mostly she blamed him. If only he was little supportive and understanding, they would be enjoying the juicy crab. She peeped at him and saw him, picking up his phone back. It irritated her and she whined, throwing tantrums as he always accused her of.

"Mukund! Do somthing." She begged with a childlike tone. "You promised me that you'd marry me, so marry me now."

He shook his head in disbelief, "Okay, calm down. We'll think of something."

"What is there to think?" She pushed her eyebrows together in confusion. "You love me. I love you. Let's get married!"

Mukund rolled his eyes, "Yeah, right! It is that simple. We'll come to this later. Let's finish the dish. Looks delicious, doesn't it?"

Irritated, she banged her fists on the table and moved a little closer to threaten him with her doe eyes, "I am serious, Mukund!"

"Alright! Calm down!" Mukund caught her wrists, wincing a little and looking around to make sure nobody saw them. He kissed her palms, smiling at her. "I will definitely think of something. I promise you."

"I've already thought!" She spoke at once, pulling her hands out of his grip. Mukund raised an eyebrow, suspiciously. He knew the look in her eyes-that mischievous glint and evil smile on her lips.

"Just say it!" He prompted quietly and she grinned in delight. "Let's run away! Come on, Mukund. We'll go some far away place. We'll build our dream house and we'll grow many, many plants. You'll go to work and I will look after the kids. What do you say?"

He huffed a sigh and shook his head on a chuckle, "Stop watching daily soaps. These things are getting into your brain. It's not a movie."

"Hey!" She objected, looking at him in pain. "I am serious here. It's a perfect plan."

"Really?" He folded his hands on the table and leaned a little closer, eyes showing the hidden frustration. "Do you think we're the part of a movie? Let's run away!" He said, mimicking her. "It's not 'Jab we met', Anu."

"Then what? Are you expecting me to sit down quietly and watch everyone ruin my life? That's what's normal!" She threw her hands in the air. "I can't do that. I can't let 'him' terrorize me for the rest of my life." Her voice faded as she shivered with a chill.

"I don't even want him to look at me. My God, that creep!" She twisted her lips in disgust, trying hard to not picture the 'full of arrogance' face which was conjuring in the back of her mind. She jumped at once and caught his hands, pleading. "Let's run away, Mukund. I can't wait to be with you. Let's go somewhere far away from him."

Mukund avoided the last part and rubbed her knuckles softly, "Running away isn't an easy option. If we are planning to build a life, I'll have to make arrangements for us. This needs time."

"Fine!" Anahita pulled her hands back and folded arms over her chest with an scoff, "then see me getting married to that cunt and sing 'channa mereya'. Meanwhile, I will try my best to accept this truth that our love isn't meant to be and live happily ever after with that chimpanzee."

"Anahita!"

"Mukund, please understand yaar. I have my wedding in a month." She emphasized, fighting with a growing headache. Even the mention of her wedding churned the taste in her mouth rotten. "I can't wait more."

"Why don't we just simply go and talk to him?" Mukund retorted, growing anxious as well. She shook her head, gasping. "No, no, no. We can't do this. If he knows about you, he'll make my life hell. God, no! I can't prepone my suffering. He'll probably marry me right then. He's an asshole, Mukund. I know him very well. I've bearing him since my childhood. He enjoys torturing me. But, no. That's enough. I won't entertain him anymore."

Mukund watched the ridiculous display of emotions on her face. From fear, to anger to hatred, to disgust and finally, pleading. She joined her hands and begged. "Please marry me, Mukund. I can't marry him. I can't tolerate him for the rest of my life. Please save me. Please take me away from him."

"Hold on!" Mukund cocked an eyebrow. "Do you wanna marry me because you love me or because Yuvraaj tortures you?"

Anahita rolled her lower lip out, whining. "I love you, of course!"

"Better!" Mukund flashed a dimpled smile. She mirrored his expression and nodded, "I know, right? So keep smiling and make out a plan. Please Mukund. I'm telling you I will not marry that guy. Just... Do something!"

"Don't worry! We'll figure this out!" He got up and placed a soothing kiss on her head, melting away the worries and the thought of Yuvraaj holding the reins in his hand as she sat on the floor, kneeling like a dog.

"Please save me, Mukund. I beg you." She whispered under her breath, shutting down the thoughts of her nemesis; Yuvraaj Chaitanya Prakash.
