Chapter 4: Friendly Gesture

Mara's POV:

Several weeks of school has gone by. Gladly, I'm starting to get a hang of this high school situation. And although, its a more crazier environment, I feel like I could handle it. My classes have been going well. My grades? Well I'm proud to say their still above average (which for me means not less than 95%). Because of this, I have a much greater chance of being chosen to be part of the Scholastic team.

Somehow I feel like everything is going the way I want. But the majority of my heart still longs for attention from "Mr. Perfect".😔 Yup, Martin said that's what the girls at their old school call him. We see each other every morning classes, and I don't know what kind of gestures he's doing but he's driving my heart crazy!😐

Most of the time in class, he'd secretly stare at me during lecture. And as if I don't have a third eye (I really don't) I pretend not to notice his constant staring on my side of the class. I don't know if its just me, or does this guy have a crush on me?!😂

Nuks, Mara, feelingera?! Baka ikaw, maybe you have a crush on him!😏 Wait do I?😕 I mean, I think he's cute the moment I saw him the first day of class, but do I actually just fall so easily?!😐 Ewan, maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Just to make it less obviouse, I started to act a little distant to him. I hope he doesn't take it the wrong way, I just don't want him to know how I feel towards him.

Wait what?! So you do like him Mara?! Hala sha! O no, I hate this! Now I'm getting all weirded out every time we talk. Great Mara, just great!😐

Zac's POV:

I've been getting use to school right now. I've met many new people and kababayans here in Micanoria High School. And I'm happy to say that I'm slowly being known in the campus as a great basketball player because of my first game in the team yesterday! We won our game verses Caliron High, 98- 80. I was also awarded as the Best Rookie of the game! I never felt this achieved in my life!

As for school, I'm doing pretty well. I'm one of the highest in class, along side Mikaela and Mara. Speaking of Ms. Beautiful, I can't help but feel motivated every time I see her face in class. Sometimes napapatingin nalang ako sakanya, I didn't even realize I just suddenly stare at her blankly!😣 I don't know if she notices, and I hope she doesn't! Grabe, nakakahiya! I just can't help it! Her face looks so angelic, I don't think anyone can resist not staring at her forever! Or is it just me?! I would also constantly compliment her outfit or the grades she received in class. More of like an attention gesture, but she just smiles and walks away.😔

This past few weeks I've noticed she isn't really talking to me that much. If she does, its usually about school and projects. After the the first day of school, we just haven't been talking casually anymore.😔

Mara: Zac, what was our assignment for Ms. Julie's class?

Me: Oh.. its about the planetary evolution thing.

Her: Ok, thanks (goes back to her seat and never talks to me the whole day)

Its not that I don't like it, but it just feels weird for me. I thought we had a connection the first day of school. But anyways, its more better that way, maybe she's giving me a sign that she's not interested or she's more focused on school, and I totally understand that!😊

Mara's POV:

After our Career Development class, the twins and I headed to Starbucks to get ourselves some coffee. With all the work we've been doing latelly only as Freshmens, coffee is clearly needed!😧
