Chapter 18: TRAGEDY

Hey guys, so... in the last chapter Zac and Mara are still committed to fulfilling time for each other no matter how busy they may be. It was like a beautiful fairtale for both of them. But one incident will ruin everything.

ZAC'S POV:

Doctor: Move, Move, Move!

Nurse: Doc, patient's bones are highly fractured, its a risk to even move any part of his body.

Doctor: This is bad.....lift him with the bed instead.

Mom: Doc, please.. save him! Save my son! Hindi ko kaya pag mawala anak ko!😭

These were the last words I heard before blacking out. Hindi ko na maalala kung ano pa nangyari. Ni hindi ko nga alam ba't nasa ospital ako. Am I dead? All I could remember was dropping Mara home.

Police: Are you Mrs. Heauson?

Mom: Yes, yes I am.

Police: We investigated the case. Your son's car crashed with a 6 wheeler truck just this night at 10:34 pm. We talked to some witnesses. Your son was driving just fine, but the truck planned to overtake, but failed because of the wet road. This lead to the devastating crash. Not even comparable to the size of the truck, your son's car was nearly squashed flat.

Mom: 😭 Why?! Jesus Christ, why did this happen to my son? He's such a good person, he doesn't deserve this!

Police: Would you want to file a case?

Mom: I'm furious of whoever that truck driver is. But I know he's badly injured too. The company of that truck talked it out already. Their willing to pay for all Zac's medical operations. So I'm not gonna file a case, I know Zac would do the same thing. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone anymore.

Police: Ok Maam, we'll be heading out now. God bless you.

Mom: You too, thank you for your time officer.

(Dials her phone) Hello..

MARA'S POV:

After my prince charming dropped me home, humiga lang ako sa kama and basically just dreamed about him. But.. all of a sudden I received a call from Tita at like 1 am.

Tita: Hello.. Mara. Si tita to. Anak (shivering voice) can you please come to Alverson Hospital. Si Zac....He got into a car crash.

My whole world instantly fell apart. Kanina lang kasama ko sya. Anong nangyayari?

I ran to Mama and Papa's room. I didn't care kung tulog pa sila, I just wanted to go as quick as possible!

Me: Papa! Can you please drop me to the hospital?! Its an emergency! PLEASSSSEEEEEE!!!

Papa: (eyes still shut) Why?! Are you sick? What happened?

Me: (nearly crying) PAPA!! Zac got into an accident! I need to go there now!!

After I said that, both Mama and Papa got up instantly. With a face full of shocked reactions, no other words were said. We didn't even bother to change! Dumeretsio na kame sa kotse. When we finally arrived, sumalubong samen si Tita, who obviously looks like she's been crying all day.

Mama: Mare! (Gives tita a hug) Anong... anong nangyari?!

Tita: Hindi ko na alam. Di ko alam ba't nangyayari to! Baket si Zac pa?! Baket anak ko?
