Charlie's POV

"911, what's the emergency?" a calm woman answered.

"We need an ambulance, a man has been shot in the chest!" Alicia frantically answered.

"What's the location?"

"The Vancouver Police Department! Please hurry!" tears threatened to run from her eyes.

"Alright, we're sending one ambulance your way," the call ended.

In a dramatic turn of events, The Nightmare pulled a fucking risky move on Dan and Crystal, shooting a near-miss warning shot at the IHIT detective before shooting apart her handcuff chains, firing her gun at the half-silvered mirror, managing to injure the IHIT chief. I had attempted to pursue the daring serial killer, only to miserably fail and come back to Dan empty handed, pissing him off- a lot. She was way more cunning that I had anticipated; organizing an escape car and accomplice for the task of escaping custody.

"Fuck! Go! Run!" Dan ordered.

My legs acted on instinct, and sprinted after the killer, giving a full-on pursuit, jumping couches and tables just to get near her. But Hannah was faster than she appeared, her small height adding to her advantage of speed. I nearly had her hair within an arm's reach, stretching out my limb to snatch her by the hair, then my foot got caught on the carpet, causing me to trip and fall, stunned by the misstep. By the time I had gotten up off the floor, it was too late, The Nightmare dashed into a large truck, and slammed the door shut as the silver vehicle drove off.

'Fuck...Dan's gonna be so pissed at me.'

"Dan!" I shouted from the lounge to catch my partner's attention, immediately seeing all the hope drain from his already panicked face.

"I'm so, so sorry," I stopped, leaning against the wall, breathing heavily. "I lost her, she got away in an escape vehicle," words managed to say between breaths.

"ARGHHH!!! FUCK!!!" Dan screamed, punching the broken half-silvered mirror with his angry fist.

"C'mon Charlie..." the young coroner hugged me. "It's not your fault, anything could've happened."

"But...she got away...again."

"I don't care right now," we turned our heads to see Dan, holding his wounded hand. "We need to make sure the chief gets to the hospital," he mumbled, eyes still full of pure frustration. "I'll get a national wide fugitive search once the chaos dies out."

"I'll be fine, go talk to the others, Crystal," Detective Marsh ordered.

"But Kev-"

"Do it. She's wanted in two countries, we don't need a third country to fuss over her."

The woman hesitated, her eyes holding back a massive wave of tears. "Alright," she succumbed to her leader's words. "Dan, keep talking to him, and Detective Barnes was it?"

"Yeah," I looked at her, confused.

"Come with me," she motioned her finger in a 'come with me' gesture.

My head first turned to Alicia, who nodded that I should follow the detective, then facing forwards once again, nodding to Detective Ling, who then turned and ran around the corner. Regenerated with some stamina, my legs trailed behind the rushing IHIT investigator, who ran through the lounge past many confused officers, down a hall to a room with a single desktop computer, and a man sitting there, surprised by the sudden entrance.
