Mark's P.O.V
After Jack caught me singing at the park, he was relentless. He wanted me to keep singing for him. I didn't mind because he's my friend, but I didn't understand why he liked it so much...
"You have an awesome voice," Jack said. "that's why I keep asking." He said, as if reading my thoughts. I crossed my arms.
"You know what? If I'm gonna sing, then so are you." I said. Jack's eyes widened. I grinned. But then his eyes lit up.
"KARAOKE!!!" He yelled. I broke out laughing at his outburst.
(This may or may not be a crappy chapter, gimme a break 😂)
Jack pulled out his phone and started tapping on the screen, refusing to show me what he was doing. Then he held his phone up slightly.
"Smule?" I laughed.
"Fuckin Karaoke." He responded.
After a minute we picked a song. Jack was acting so giddy...
He seemed so happy. It was a good thing after everything that had happened the past few weeks. I felt so good seeing him grin. I didn't care if he asked me to sing for him every day, as long as he stayed this happy. He'd chosen to keep me safe from the guys at school. He was there for me when I needed a friend. He was my only friend, my best friend, my back up.
Dare I say 'I think I'm in love'.
Shaking my head, I focused back on Jack and the phone. We were going to sing 'Half a Heart' by One Direction.
"I can't believe you actually are going to sing with me without an argument." I snickered.
"You've been singing for me... I might as well return the favor." He said quietly, as if he was embarrassed. "Ready?"
"I guess," I laughed a bit.
He loaded the song, and the music began to play. Then he smiled at me with a blush, and I had no other intention but to return it.
"So your friend's been telling me,
You've been sleeping with my sweater.
And that you can't stop missing me,
Bet my friend's been telling you,
I'm not doing much better.
Cuz I'm missing half of me.
And being here without you, is like I'm waking up to...

Jack gave me a smile and I blushed back. He smirked at my response
"Half a heart without you!" I sang.
"I'm half a heart without you!" Jack sang.
"Though I try to get you outta my head...
The truth is I got lost without you...
And since then I've been waking up to!"
Me and Jack quickly grinned to each other, then he draped his arm across my shoulder.
"Only half a blue sky!" I sang, Jack echoing me.

Jack was so happy. I can't deny it. I love him.
"Without you, without you!" Jack sang.
"Half a heart without you!" We sang.
"Without you, without you!" I sang, Jack's happiness running off on me.
"I'm half a heart without yooouuuu..." We finished, by then we were looking each other in the eye. I resisted the urge to kiss him.
Enjoy the moment. Simple.
Jack put the phone back down. "THAT WAS AWESOME." He yelled.
"Yeah it was!" I replied.
I'll tell him some other day... for now I just want to savor the look in his face.
