We haven't even made it to the dead body yet and this trip is already ripping to shreds.
We were all just talking about getting food with our very small amount of money. How could all of us have forgotten the food? The most important thing. We decided we were gonna go to the local Quidacioluo's once we made it to the junkyard.
"Trains coming." Chris informed us.
We all jumped off the tracks as soon as we could... all except for Teddy. Teddy and I have been dating for awhile now, and as much as I love him, he can get on my nerves sometimes.
"Come on, Teddy!" Chris shouted over to him.
"No. Uh-uh. I'm gonna dodge it." Is he insane? He's done crazy stuff before, but never anything like this.
"Come on Teddy, man. Get off the tracks, you're crazy!" You could hear the train getting closer.
Teddy was staring at the train in awe. "Train dodge. Dig it."
Chris kept telling him to get off the tracks, but he wouldn't move. He wanted to pretend he was at Normandy like his father. The train was getting more and more closer. Chris threw off his bag and stomped over to Teddy to pull him off the tracks.
After much struggling, he finally got him off the tracks. Gordie and Vern followed them, leaving me the only one still on the other side of the train. I was able to hear Chris and Teddy yelling at each other.
How could he act like that? I angrily threw my bag over my shoulder and started to walk away.
After a few seconds and the train had already passed, the boys had finally noticed that I left. "Y/n! Where are you going?!" Vern shouted to me.
I didn't answer. I was still angry and kept walking. I'm so mad at Teddy for making me worry like that. I couldn't imagine watching him die in front of me.
"Come on y/n, it's all good now! We skinned it!" Chris shouted as they were all trying to catch up with me.
Teddy ran over and put his hand on my shoulder. He was out of breath. "Look..., y/n, I'm s-"
I cut him off by throwing his hand off. "DON'T TOUCH ME!" They all looked taken back as they've never heard me yell before. "You had me scared to death, Theodore Duchamp!" Vern started to snicker at the name choice. "Don't laugh!" I yelled at him. He shut right up.
"But y/n, I'm trying to say that I'm s-" Teddy tried again.
"No Teddy, I'm done. Done with your games. Done with this 'army' crap. And overall, I'm done with you!" I yelled in his face before continuing to walk away.
The boys trailed behind me, not saying anything. They didn't even talk to each other.
I stopped and turned around abruptly. They all stopped in shock, waiting for what I had to say. "You guys don't have to be afraid to talk to me or in general. I'm sorry for yelling, but I meant what I said. Every word." I said, looking at Teddy.
All the guys nodded and made small talk with each other. Teddy was still quiet and looking down in sadness. You may think I'm overreacting, but he almost died in front of me. All of us have crappy families, whether it be our parents or our siblings. All we have is each other. I'd hate to lose any of these guys.
It was about an hour later and we were still pretty far from the junkyard. The guys had forgotten about what happened earlier and kept complaining about there being no food.
"Hey guys, the train is coming again." Gordie told us.
"Come on everyone, off the tracks. Especially you, Teddy." Chris pointed at Teddy. He stuck his tongue out in response.
Everyone was getting off the tracks. As I was walking off, I stopped midway and got back on. I stood facing towards the train with my arms crossed and my head held high.
"Y/n, what are you doing? The train is coming." Those were the first words Teddy has spoken to me since what happened.
"See? It's not so nice on the other side is it?" I spat back while still staring at the train.
"Come on y/n, get over here quick!" Vern waved to me. I shook my head and scrunched my lips. "Get off the damn tracks y/n!" Teddy shouted angrily.
The train was getting closer. Teddy ran over to me and wrapped his arms around me. "Get off!"
He tried to pull me off. "I can't!" I angrily shouted back.
"You know I'm sorry, now let's go!" He tried to pull me off again.
"No, I really can't!" I pointed down at the tracks. My shoe had gotten caught the first time Teddy tried to pull me.
"Oh fudge!" Only he didn't say fudge. He bent down and tried to pull out my shoe. The guys were panicking and yelling at us.
I looked back up and saw the train coming closer. "Hurry Teddy!" I started to cry. Was I gonna die here?
"The damn thing is really stuck! I can't get it out." He pushed his hair back in frustration.
The whistling of the train was getting louder. Suddenly, Teddy pulled my foot out of the stuck shoe and grabbed onto me. Unfortunately, he ended up flinging me off the track with him. We were flung onto the other side, which made us tumble down a hill.
We both hit the bottom and groaned. "Nice landing. Thanks for that Teddy." I blankly stared at him and rubbed my sore neck. He shrugged and laughed.
He pushed some of my hair behind my ear. "I know it's only been an hour, but I've been a wreck y/n. I didn't mean to scare you and I deserved what just happened. It's not so nice being on the other side."
I shook my head. "No I'm sorry. Sorry I didn't let you apologize when you truly meant it. And I'm sorry for what I just did. I was scaring myself to death. Literally."
He chuckled back a bit. He grabbed onto my hand and smiled at me. "So does this mean you'll take me back?"
I sighed and nodded with a grin. "Yes, of course I'll take you back." I pulled him in and kissed him.
The train finally finished going by and the boys came running down the hill. "Hey y/n, we managed to pull out your- woah, what's going on here?" Chris was smirking at us.
We pulled apart quickly and blushed. "Oh I was just thanking him for saving my life." I looked at Teddy.
"I've never thanked anyone like that before." Vern said grossed out.
"We should start saving more lives guys." Gordie joked, looking to Vern and Chris.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my shoe from them. "We are back together."
Teddy looked into my eyes lovingly. "Yup, and I'm loving every minute of it." He grabbed my face and kissed me again.
The guys gagged and groaned. "Get a room!" They turned and walked back up the hill.
Teddy pulled away and gazed at me. He got up and offered me his hand.
"Come on... Let's go see a dead body." Romantic Teddy. Real romantic.
