"Enjoy and have a nice day." I handed the lady her bag.
I sighed and put my arm on the counter, resting my head on my hand. My co worker Jolene came over and did the exact same thing.
"Nothing interesting happens here. Sometimes, I wish I was in the movie Cocktail so I could make cool drinks and party while I work." She dreamed.
I turned to her with a smirk. "Oh, so it has nothing to do with Tom Cruise being there?"
She looked at me like I was kidding. "Please, it has everything to do with him. Drinks, party, Tom."
"Words of wisdom." I laughed at her as she walked over to the windows to clean them.
I heard the door chime and I looked up to see a young guy around my age looking out the window. He looked worried like he was trying to get away from someone. He took off his sunglasses and looked up at me with a small smile before looking back outside.
I watched as he moved around the store, pretending to look at stuff while simultaneously looking outside. I was hoping he wasn't looking for cops to steal something. He didn't seem like that kind of guy though.
The guy's eyes went wide before he ducked down. I was gonna go over and see if he was alright till the door chimed again. This time it was a girl.
She had frizzy blonde hair with scary, piercing blue eyes. The girl was squinting while looking, like a hawk, around the entire store. She stomped around and went over to where the guy was.
"Are you ignoring me now? I thought you liked me." She placed her hands on her hips.
He stood up and sighed. "Missy, I told you. I don't like you and I have a girlfriend." He looked away and bit his lip.
I laughed. He totally just lied. He doesn't have a girlfriend.
I tried to hold in my laughter for the rest of this little dispute. The guy seemed so annoyed from the girl.
"Yeah right. You don't have a girlfriend!" She was following him as he was trying to get away from her.
He kept looking up at me. Why is he looking at me? Does he need my help?
He grabbed some things and walked over to the cash register with a sad face. The girl was close behind him.
I rolled my eyes and smiled. Suddenly, I put on an extremely happy face and began to squeal. "Ahh! I can't believe you are visiting me at work honey!" I gave the guy a hug and several kisses on the cheek, which made him blush and smirk.
We held in our laughter as I continued. "My lunch brake is soon. Remember, it's your turn to pick the place... Bubsy." I ran my fingers up and down his arm.
It was getting funnier every second. The funniest part was the girls face. She didn't say anything. She had horrified wide eyes with a weirdly opened mouth.
"Yes... Pookie Pookie." I snorted a bit. "We will figure out where to go on the way."
The girl finally said something. "Is this her?" She pointed at me. The guy nodded. She crossed her arms. "Oh yeah? What's her name?"
I held up my name tag. Thank goodness I was wearing one.
She snapped her fingers and stomped out of the store. As soon as she left, the guy and I bursted out into laughter.
"Bubsy? That sounds like a baby thing." He tried to catch his breath.
I scoffed and grinned. "Don't even go there. You gave me Pookie Pookie."
He nodded like I was right. I handed him his bag. "Here you go."
"Thank you. Oh and thank you for that." He pointed out the window.
I raised my eyebrows and smirked. "It looked like you were struggling."
His jaw dropped. "I wasn't struggling."
"Please, you kept looking at me with pleading eyes. Who was she anyways?"
He rolled his eyes. "One date with her. That was it. One date and she wants to get married. Not literally of course... but you know-"
I held my hand up. "I get it."
He held out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Andrew by the way."
I shook it with a grin. "Y/n."
He put on his sunglasses. "Well, when I need a girlfriend, I know where to go." He smirked while taking a business card.
He looked at the card and frowned. "The number on here is wrong."
I grabbed it out of his hands and squinted at it. "No it's correct. It's our store phone number."
A pen clicked. "Yeah but it's not yours."
I placed my hands on my hips. "You think you're so slick, don't you?" He nodded. "Well it worked." I grabbed the pen and wrote down my number.
He grabbed the card and began to leave. "Bye y/n."
I laughed. "Bye boyfriend." I mocked.
He grinned at me the entire time he walked out. I couldn't help but grin back.
Jolene came over and leaned on the counter. "What?"
I looked up at her. "Something interesting finally happened here."
Her eyes began to glow. I was preparing for whatever she was about to say. She's probably gonna go crazy saying things about me talking to a boy or something.
"Does it have anything to do with Tom Cruise?" My smile faded. I wasn't prepared for that.
