Chapter 26

Abby's POV

"Naomi!!!! I fucking hate your guts!" I screamed at her.

She just kept laughing at me.

"Enjoy, big sis!" She winked and ran out of the room.

I screamed and Austin came running into the bathroom. As soon as he sniffed the air, his eyes turned black.

"Shit." I said.

***Naomi's POV***

"It was so funny! You should've seen it! She was so mad that I didn't tell her or prepare her. But I sent Austin in," I kept laughing as I told Michael about Abby going into heat.

He laughed but kept staring at me.

"Are you forgetting something?" He asked.

"Hm. Nope. I didn't forget anything." I responded, pretending.

It's his birthday. He finds his mate today...

I was sad because I don't think it's me. But still happy for him because he gets to meet the person he has been waiting for. Maybe I'll be like my mom. Mateless... I get sad thinking about it.

He smiled at me.

"what?" I asked.

"Of course I didn't forget your birthday, you ding dong!" I yelled at him and playfully punched his arm.

He laughed at me but still didn't speak.

We were sitting on his bed watching a movie. But we usually just talk during our 'play dates' like old times as kids.

He stopped laughing and kept staring at me.

My face lit up in embarrassment. Why is he staring at me.

I decided to play along and stare back but being silly and making faces at me. He just smiled.

Then he leaned in closer and my face dropped. Suddenly it was very serious.

"Guess what?" He said quietly.

I silently prayed for him to say he's my mate.

I gulped.

He chuckled and backed away.

"I still have my sight!!!" He screamed.

I sadly smiled.

"Also, I met my mate." He said much quieter, looking at me for approval.

"That's amazing! Who is he/she?" I added.

"Shut up! It's you! Duh!" He laughed at me.

I stopped laughing and things got serious again.

I tackled him in a hug and we both laughed. Then I realized how close we were. He stared into my eyes and I got distracted in his eyes and forgot about everything else. He slowly moved in closer to where are lips were barely touching. He gave me a questioning look like he was asking for approval. I shook my head - yes. He didn't think twice before kissing me. It was explosive and amazing yet sweet at the same time.
