Michael POV

I got back inside the conference room after my wife wouldn't pick up. I'm worried. Seriously worried.

I hated when she didn't picked my calls. I didn't thought I could continued the meeting. She was more important.

I stood looking at everyone who wearily looked back at me. I shoved my hands inside my pockets.

"I'm afraid I'll have to cancel this meeting for another day". I saw the disappointed look on their faces.

Everyone started gathering their documents ready to leave.

"Mr Perry you know how important this project is. What's going on with you? The bigger heads will be here soon. We have to be ready". My associate Devon said to me after everyone else left. He was just a year older than I am. He'd got a history of wives.

"I will be ready when they get here".

"You can't just cancel on them like you did now. They'll cancel on us". He was trying to waste my time.

"Don't lecture me as if I don't know what I'm doing. Family might be the last thing on your agenda, but not mine. If I have to cancel on them too when the time comes that's what I'll do". I walked off. Asshole.

"Don't be rude with me Michael. Just because your the boss doesn't mean you should've had us waiting here for almost an hour". I stopped and turn around. Yes I had them waiting but what else a loving husband would've done. I was trying to get to her, to calm her so I wouldn't have to cancel, but I had no choice. Or maybe I did, but I chose my wife.

"It's Mr Perry to you and yes I'm the boss, so watch your mouth and don't make me do what I'd love to do right now". I didn't need to explain myself to anyone. I have a family emergency and that's it.

This was why I always had enemies. They expected to say whatever to me and I should take it. No. I have to hit harder.

He said nothing more and I walked off again. He divorced five times in his lifetime. He'd never put his family first. It had always been about money for him. A guy couldn't live like that. What about when he had all the money he needed? What happened after that? How would his children felt when their old enough to realize that their father loved money more than them?

"Mr Perry!" I saw Mia rushing towards me.

"You need to see this".

"See what Mia?" She's crying? She pulled me until we were in the waiting room.

"Look". She pointed at the television.

My eyes widen. Dumbstruck I stood.

Akeilia POV

"Akeilia wake up". I opened my eyes sluggishly. Michael was standing over me. His beautiful smile was the first thing that greeted me.

"Where are you going?" I smiled up at him. He was in his working suit. I already knew where he was going but I had to fool around a bit first.

He bent his body. The kiss that he gave me felt longing.

I frowned but giggled right after.

"You kissed me as if you're leaving me". I joked. The look in his eyes had me curious. It made me felt uncomfortable too. I sat upwards on the bed.

"What's wrong Michael?"

"I'm sorry Akeilia but I won't be coming back. It's too late". What?

"Michael what do mean your not coming back. Where are you going? And what do you mean by it's too late?" He looked below my face. I frowned and looked down too.
