Riley was walking with Roman through the halls when he stopped and started bouncing on the balls of his feet
"I need to pee," he said, looking to his left where the bathrooms were
"Oh, go ahead, meet me by my locker," She told him, walking down the hallway as he dashed into the bathroom
Riley was looking at all the new poster boards that they had hung up yesterday when she wasn't here, she didn't watch where she was going and ran smack dab into a chest making her lurch back and drop her books, the dictionary landed on her toe that was on display in her sandals
"Ow!" she hissed, holding her toe
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I thought you were gonna stop so I assumed and I- sorry," Dean stuttered as he bent to pick up the fallen books
"So you saw me coming, but still run into me?" she asked amused as she bent to help him pick up her books
"I'm sorry, around you I just get so-" Dean said, pausing as Riley held up a hand
"Look Dean, I saw the girl leaving your house, look, it's fine. I'll get over it. So you don't have to pretend to like me anymore." Riley said, taking the books from him and pushing past him and walking to her locker, plastering a blank stare on her face
"Hey Ri," Roman said, smiling as his sister came into view
"Ready for class?" She asked him, watching him sling his bookbag over his shoulder then they headed for class
Then when Riley and Nikki had a free period, they decided to check out the new coffee and pastry thing the library had going on, plus Riley was still studying for her midterms
"Can you get me a scone and a mocha?" Nikki asked, head buried in the Physics book in front of her
"Sure," Riley asked, getting up and leaving her book open to go purchase the treats
When she came back, her eyes widened, Nikki's head was still buried in the book, but it was her own book that made Riley confused

She put down the treats and took up the rose by the stem and smiled, smelling the beautiful flower, she picked up the card and read it
Riley bit her lip as she read the note, then she looked at the rose and smiled
"What's all that?" Nikki asked, looking at Riley while stuffing her face
"Nothing," Riley quickly said, tucking it in her bag
"So what're you doing for lunch?" Nikki asked biting her scone
"Umm, I've got plans." She said, looking into her book
"Hmm okay," Nikki said, not thinking anything of it
But Riley couldn't tell her she was gonna meet Dean. Nikki was known to blab when she was excited. She sighed and looked into her book, not thinking much of anything
