Chapter 3- Home Again

Still Lizzy's POV

I hear a skateboard. "Nate?" I call. "Oh my Goodness! Is it you, Lizzy?" Katy's voice. Great. Taking me back home. Kinda good, knowing that I was afraid of a bunny.

"Oh. Katy," I reply. "Call me Mom." says Katy. "Why would I ever?" I ask. She looks at me. "Because I AM your mother," she says.

Nate's POV

I think about what's going on. I hope Lizzy will be okay.

I have been worried sick about her! I guess I tried to go fast on my skateboard. Why wouldn't they take me in the truck? I don't know why they would do that. I guess I just don't know what to do. Why didn't I ask them? "Nate! Nate! Nate! This is the sixth time we've called your name!" exclaims the nurse. "Sorry I was just.... just deep in thought." They ask me if I want a small wheelchair, medium wheelchair, or a large. I tell them either a medium or a large. "Trust me, you are better off with a small," says the nurse.

Katy Perry's POV

"Honey! Are you alright?" I ask. "Yes," says Lizzy. "Liz, I-" Lizzy shakes her head and turns away. "Why do you have Nate's skateboard and why were you riding it?" asks Liz.

"Long story." Lizzy looks at me. "I have to go on tour in a week. You will be alone with your father," I say.

"I'm not going home," Liz refuses.

"Yes you are."

"Make me."

I pack up all of her stuff and put it in her bag. "Hey, um, can I ride your scooter and you ride the skateboard? I almost broke MY leg," I joke, trying to get a laugh out of here. Nope, no laugh. "Sure," says Liz.

Then my phone rings. "We'll see how Nate's doing," I say. I answer the phone. "Nate will be in a wheelchair. He broke both of his legs. Did you drop off his skateboard at his house?" says John. "Actually..... we're kinda using it right now......"

I tell him the story then we both hang up.

Yeah.

Then me and Liz go home together.

Yeah.

Awkward.

Nate's POV

I get sized for a wheelchair and they say that they are going to keep me in the hospital for a night until they find a wheelchair suitable for me. I'm playing on my phone when it starts ringing. Oh Gosh! Guess who it is?! Lizzy! I quickly answer my phone with an overly excited,"Lizzy!!!!!"

"Yeah! I know I'm fine. I finally have reception. I dropped off your skateboard and now I'm riding on my scooter to the hospital. With Katy in the back of me holding on for dear life," says Lizzy. "Cooooool! Wait, uh, not cool?" I say. "It's alright she is my ACTUAL MOM surprisingly."

"Hey, um, I broke my legs, so, yeah." I break the news.

Lizzy's POV

"YOU BROKE YOUR LEG?S!?! HOW!!!!!"

"Trying to find you," replies Nate. I tell him I'm so sorry. "I can't even be any sorrier!" I say.

"No, really, it's alright. It's actually my fault, considering I'm the one who tried to make the jump," says Nate. I smile. I have a feeling he is too.

"Which jump?" I ask. "Well, not really a jump. Well, kinda. I tried the triple-twist and it didn't go too well," he explains. "Obviously," I say.

"So...... is Katy doing okay?" asks Nate.

"Yeah, Kate is doing alright." I say.

"You know, I'd appreciate it if you called me 'mom,'" says Kate.

"Not comfortable doing that," I reply in a cocky way.

She smiles. "Listen, Nate, I gotta go, okay?" I say.

"Yeah, sure." he replies.

Then I see home in sight. "Home again!" I shout. I go even faster which makes Kate hold on even tighter then Kate loses her balance and then we go overboard.

Once we get up, we start, like, cracking up. "We should walk," I say. "No way!" Kate replies. We ride back to our house and I go up to my room.

"Home again." I repeat.
