Chapter 16-Yes Or No?

I couldn't believe what I was seeing when Justin actually proposed to Shannon!

Now, Shannon is still debating whether or not she should accept it. "I-I mean it's so soon, how does he expect me to accept when we only met.......I don't even know when we met!" I look at her and laugh. "You guys met two weeks ago. The guy is crazy. Why so soon?"

Shannon shakes her head. "I can't believe this! Why so soon, why so soon, WHY SO SOON?! He just had to propose, he had to! Why, just why? I don't even want to accept, but-"

"Then don't." I interrupt.

"But, what if I lose him?"

"Just tell him that you are sorry and can't accept because it is too early! Simple as that!" I say.

"No, not,'simple as that'. You have no idea how hard this-" but then she stops. "Alright, I'll think about it." she says, smiling, using one of her signature cheeky smiles.

I laugh and shake my head.

Today will be a long day.

"Nate, I can't talk about this right now." I say. "Sure you can. Will you be my girlfriend or not?" So, as you can see, Nate just asked me out! And, my heart is telling me yes, but my mind is telling me no. "Nate, I really need to think about this. I'm sorry, but this could be awhile."

I hear the frown in Nate's voice. "You've had plenty of time to think." he says. Then he hangs up.

Okay, I have no idea what just happened, but this is a little crazy.

I mean, give me a chance to think, dude! My Gosh! What's with the guy? "Follow your heart." I hear a voice. Not just any voice, but my dad's voice.

"I know the situation you are in, sweetheart. Or at least I think I do."

I chuckle. "Okay, what do you think just happened?" I ask. "Nate asked you out. Follow your heart, hon, follow your heart." Then he leaves the room.

Well, my heart says yes.

My mind says no.

I think of Dad's words.'Follow your heart, hon, follow your heart.'

Why does my mind say no?

Maybe......maybe things would just be weird between us?

I don't know. "Dad! Wait!" but he already left. Okay, now what do I do?

I think about what Shannon is thinking about doing. My situation is similar to hers. She is thinking about saying no to marriage with Justin, but still wanting to be his girlfriend. I am thinking about saying no to- actually, saying yes to Nate. But, what if things get weird? But I also know for a fact that I will get jealous if he dates someone else.

So, what exactly do I do?

Hi, guys!! Short chapter, I know, I know.

But, the truth is, I am not really in the mood to write right now. I'm really thinking about ending the story soon, because I am running out of ideas.
