Ship(s): Platonic Logicality

Patton groaned and thumped his forehead against his textbook, letting out a shaky sigh of frustration. He had a test tomorrow, a very important one that could determine whether or not he failed his class, and he didn't feel prepared at all. He had no idea what the textbook was talking about half the time, and the professor was impersonal and didn't believe in giving outside help to his students.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid," Patton muttered, his hands curling into fists as they rested on his desk. Tears started welling up in his eyes and he quickly brushed them away. He needed to study. Everyone else in his class understood what they were doing. They were all so smart and advanced, and then there was him. Patton was the class clown, the "dad-friend", and apparently he was going to be the guys who dropped out of college too if he didn't get his grades up.

"Patton, I'm home! I stopped by the cafe and bought those donuts you like, hope you don't mind!" someone called, the door closing behind them. Patton froze, horrified that his roommate, Logan, had gotten home so early. He couldn't let him see that he wasn't done! He'd left hours ago! Patton quickly started shoving papers into his backpack, not caring that they were being crinkled and ruined, just that Logan didn't see-

"Patton? What are you doing?" Logan asked, standing in the doorway and holding a donut box with a confused look on his face. Patton squeaked and stood bolt upright, sending his papers flying all over the room. He tried to grab them to no avail and tears welled up in his eyes, threatening to spill down his cheeks.

"I-I...I'm sorry, I'll clean it up. Thanks for the donuts," Patton choked, bending down to pick up the unfinished papers with trembling hands. Logan's brow furrowed and he set the box of donuts on Patton's bed, getting down on his knees to help the older college student pick up his work. Logan's eyes filled with sympathy as he saw the unfinished papers, the eraser marks, and the overall signs of stress and fatigue scattered in the papers.

"Big test, huh?" Logan asked. Patton nodded, and Logan did his best to give him a reassuring smile. "I'll help you study. I might not know everything, but the extra help could be useful. That is if you want me to," Logan said quickly, pushing his glasses up his nose and fixing his tie, a common fidgit when he was nervous.

"W-Will you? Please? That would be amazing!" Patton said cheerfully, wiping his cheeks and putting the last few papers up on his desk. Logan's mouth twitched.

"Gladly." He set the papers in his hands on the desk and sat down next to Patton, hesitantly putting an arm around his shoulders and preparing for the long night ahead of him. He might not get any sleep, but it would all be worth it in the end.
