Ship(s): Moxiety

Warnings: None that I can think of, except for some anxious thoughts.

Virgil huffed, lugging his suitcase up the hotel stairs. His best friend and room buddy on their school's choir trip, Patton, followed close behind, carrying his own navy blue suitcase. Patton handed Virgil the room key when they approached their room. Virgil unlocked the door, and the two stepped inside.

The room was tiny, with a small bathroom leading off to the side. The window was rather large and allowed that last few dim rays of daylight shine. There was no TV, but there was a small armchair tucked away into the corner, right next to...

"There's only one bed..." Virgil muttered, shifting uncomfortably. Patton beamed at him and plopped down on the armchair.

"That's okay! I'll sleep here!" Patton said cheerfully. Virgil's eyes narrowed as Patton shifted uncomfortably in the chair, noting how lumpy and odd it looked. That just wouldn't too. Scooping Patton up into his arms, Virgil walked back over to the bed, setting Patton gently down onto the soft covers and nice mattress. Patton pouted but didn't protest, instead trying to think of a way that both he and Virgil could sleep well. He grinned.

"We could share the bed," Patton suggested. Virgil's heart stuttered in his chest and his cheeks lit up pink. He couldn't share a bed with Patton! They were friends. Just friends. Doing something like this would just make things awkward. What if he kicked Patton out of the bed? Or had a dream about him? Or hugged him in his sleep?! Or-

"Hey, Virge, you're doing it again," Patton murmured, reaching over and gently taking the anxious boy's hand. Virgil ducked his head, his purple bangs falling in front of his face as he let Patton hold his hand.
"We don't have to share the bed if that makes you anxious. I just want you to be all nice and cozy," Patton continued, giggling softly. Virgil cracked a smile, glancing up at his cheerful counterpart. Maybe...just this once.

"Okay. We can share." Patton beamed and scooted over, lifting up the covers to welcome Virgil in. Virgil moved from the armchair to bed and crawled in next to Patton, blushing slightly as the somewhat small bed made it so they were bunched up together. Patton smiled and nuzzled into Virgil's shoulder, wrapping his arms around Virgil's waist and sighing with content. He was asleep in minutes, his face peaceful, chest moving up and down slowly.

Virgil's eyes were soft with fondness as he gently took off Patton's glasses and set them on the armchair. Virgil brushed the hair out of Patton's face, his hand resting in Patton's cheek for a brief moment before he let it fall away, resting his head on the pillow, his face inches from Pat's.

"Sleep sweet, my angel," Virgil said softly, closing his eyes and pulling Patton closer, falling into a restful sleep. Patton cracked an eye open, grinning at Virgil, cheeks flushed.

"Dork," Patton teased the sleeping boy quietly. He pressed a chaste kiss to Virgil's forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment, before he let his head drop back to his pillow with a sigh. He'd talk to Virgil in the morning.
