Holding the document that Mr. Smith had given him, Stephen pondered over its contents again. The night before, he had pored over it, feeling utterly perplexed. He had many questions himself but he did not dare to ask any.

Stephen was afraid of Mr Smith but he was happy to serve him. His family had served the Smiths' and Deslunger's for generations, and the respectable union of these two prominent families meant that Nick Smith was the most special child. To be able to serve the heir of these families was Stephen's greatest privilege!

Stephen waited outside the school with his hands gripping the curious contract letter. Whether it was by chance or by fate, the girl appeared right in front of him. She had walked about two metres away from the school gate when Stephen decided to approach her.

“Excuse me, are you Miss Stella Robbs? Nice to meet you, my name is Mr. Adams.” Stephen extended his hand towards the innocent creature, who looked at him in surprise with deep blue eyes.

Upon looking at Stephen’s formal demeanor, Stella felt a bizarre compulsion to reciprocate the greeting.

“Yes I am. Nice to meet you, may I know why you are looking for me?” She shook Stephen’s hand and blushed slightly, in the girly and childish way. She was a charming thing with rosy cheeks and clear eyes. There was something so honest in her smile and speech, that Stephen felt a tinge of guilt to ensnare her in his master's control.

“Mr Nick Smith has some business with you. I don’t think this is an appropriate place to discuss anything so would you mind sitting in the car to read through some papers? He would like to meet you and discuss matters with you," Stephen answered stiffly.

Stella laughed. She knew who was Nick Smith. In fact, everyone knew him. He was known internationally for his wealth and good looks. However, even though she was living in the same city as him, she knew nothing about him, and in fact, no one knew anything about him.

“I’m sorry, Mr Adams. I don’t think I have any business to do with Nick Smith. I have never met him before,” Stella refused politely and wanted to walk away when Stephen stopped her.

“Will this be sufficient evidence?” Stephen took out a letter signed by the lawyer from Smiths Corporation.

Stella glanced through the letter and grew more confused. It was a contract for two months for the exchange of two million dollars. What the two month contract entailed was doing and producing whatever that Nick Smith wanted. If she was who Nick Smith was looking for, she would be entitled to ten million dollars of annual living expenses for the rest of her life.

She scoffed at the letter. “I’m not so easily conned by money, Mr Adams.”

“I assure you this is nothing close to a scam. Mr Smith is a gentleman. He does not go back on his words, and he has ensured that this contract is legally bound.” Stephen did not like how the girl was insinuating about Mr Smith being a conman. If there was anyone who the world should adore, it should be Mr Smith. If there was anyone perfect in the world, it should be Mr Smtih. No human could possess such perfection and grace or such beauty and adoration like Mr Smith!

Stephen heard Mr Smith come out of the car and he felt his face redden at his inability to bring the girl into the car. Mr Smith hated to appear in public. Before he could apologise for taking so long, Nick had approached Stella Robbs personally.

“My name is Nick Smith. Are you now convinced that Mr Adams is not making anything up?” he asked and took off his sunglasses. He looked much more charming in person. At the ripe age of twenty-one, he was a well-built man with a very sharp jawline. Stella thought that he must be an angel sent from heaven, for he exuded goodness and extraordinary beauty in every aspect.

“Why are you looking for me?” was all she managed to utter out as her eyes fell on his face like someone who was admiring a great piece of art, and had fallen into stupor at the perfection of aesthetics. She had applied for an internship at Smiths Corporation but, a personal visit from Mr Anthony Smith’s son was unimaginable and ridiculous.

Nick Smith stared at her and did not answer. He felt his throat tighten as he took in a deep breath of the unusual scent in front of him. There was certainly something about her. He never felt this way to any human, especially after a dose of suppressors. He could sense her from the car, and now as he stood before her, an evil impulse formed in his mind. He quickly walked back into the car to escape, to escape from this horrible creature.

“Come into the car and Mr Smith will explain further. I think you have annoyed him.” Stephen felt very unhappy with the trouble that this girl was causing. Stephen had never seen Mr Smith look so uncomfortable and he reckoned that the girl's questions must have agitated Mr Smith.

There were many questions that Stephen had, but it was wrong to doubt Mr Smith. It was wrong to go against someone superior to you, and the girl did not know these consequences.
