The night before the wedding...

Jasmin's Perspective

My anxiety was at an all time high and no matter how much he tried to soothe me, nothing worked. Thanks to a nightmare I had the night before, I had an irrational fear that Mayte was going to pop up and say that their divorce wasn't valid or something. This all directly translated to my outward behavior.

The few hiccups that did occur during the wedding rehearsal were all my fault. One minute I was experiencing a miniature meltdown because the florist delivered the wrong flowers, the next minute I was tripping over my own two feet while walking down the aisle. I was such a mess and in desperate need of some stress relief, but I knew it'd be better if I continued to save my desires for our wedding night.

I walked onto the elevator hand in hand with the man I was set to marry in less than twenty-four hours. He must've been reading my mind because before the metal doors could close behind us, he had pulled me into his embrace.

His pouty lips grazed mine, but I pulled away before he could go any further. "Baby slow down, I don't want to spoil tomorrow night."

"It won't, I just need your touch right now baby girl."

It didn't take long for me to give into his pleading gaze and reclaim his lips. His warm body gently pressed up against mine only caused the dull ache between my legs to intensify. He paid special attention to the sweet spot right below my jawline, almost sending me into overdrive as the rhythmic rocking of his hips quickened.

Through my hazy vision I noticed the floor numbers ascend ever so slowly.

2...3...4...

My mind was so clouded with lust that by the time I noticed the number hadn't moved past four, it was too late. We couldn't separate fast enough as the elevator doors opened and an elderly woman was staring back at us.

"How are you two doing on this beautiful night?", she asked as she stepped onto the elevator and tapped the number seven. From the corner of my eye I could see P looking at me, but not once did we make eye contact with her.

"Fine", we said in unison. Without warning P snatched my clutch purse from my hands, using it to shield his obvious erection.

She flashed us a knowing smile. "Sir, you umm," She stuttered, gesturing towards his mouth. "You have a bit of lipstick smeared on you."

Prince frantically wiped his mahogany-tinged lips, silently thanking the woman for the kleenex.

"You know, you two have nothing to be embarrassed about. There's nothing wrong with two people who are madly in love having a little PDA. That's how my husband Lawrence and I were back in the day, god rest his soul." A hint of sorrow laid behind her soft blue eyes.

P cleared his throat. "How long were you two married?"

"Well, he went on to glory just four months before our fortieth anniversary about five years ago. But truth be told, sometimes those forty years didn't seem long enough." Hearing her grief reminded me of how heartbroken Grandpa was when Nana Annette passed, it could move even the most heartless person to tears. "But enough about me, how long have you two been married?"

I turned to her, finally feeling a level of comfort unfold from under the awkwardness. "Oh no we're not married, yet. Actually we're getting married tomorrow." He glanced at me and gave me a toothy smile.
