Chapter LI Kains P.O.V

All this time I thought Noel was strong.
She hid her pain so she could make everyone around her happy.
She was drowning in her own pain...
I should have seen the signs...
The fact she passed out and I didn't even look into it makes me mad...
She passed out because she is sleep deprived...

"If I knew Noel..." I whisper running my finger down her cheek.
Little does she know that I was haunted as well.
I had nightmares about someone taking her and killing her...
I would wake up in a cold sweat...
Screaming at the top of my lungs trying to see straight...
Night terrors as some people call them...

I slide her closer to me so her entire body is pressed against me.
I place my forehead against hers and I watch her eyelids move as she dreams...
The small smile on her lips makes my heart melt...

You chase away the demons...

She doesn't know how much that fucked me up.
After everything she still needs me to be at peace...
I still hold her peace...

My eyes are slightly heavier and I refuse to sleep.
I need to watch over her...
She needs to sleep tonight.
I will chase her demons away.

After a few more hours the sun slowly begins to peak through the curtains...
I glance at the clock right over her shoulder and see it's seven thirty.
I look back to my angel and smile softly...

I decide I should make her breakfast before we go to school...
I lightly remove my arms from around her and I smile seeing her brows furrow in a small pout.

I make my way into her kitchen and I search through the cabinets...
Opening most of them I am shocked to see they are almost completely empty...
I walk to the fridge and open it praying there is food in it...
It's empty...

I close it and feel guilt settling in...
She didn't eat at lunch and she couldn't eat at home...
That must be why she looks so skinny...

I walk back into the room and see her still asleep laying in a ball.
Walking to her I decide I need to wake her up so I can take her to get breakfast...
Gently I place my hand on her cheek and I rub small circles under her eye.
She gasps awake snatching my hand and locking me in place.
Her fearful eyes lock onto mine and she focuses...
She closes her eyes and reopens them looking happy.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you..." I whisper laying on top of her.
She grunts in annoyance and tries to shove me off.
I just lay still and watch her struggle...

"Please got off of me Kain..." She whispers looking to me.
I smile and climb off of her.
She inhales dramatically like I was suffocating her...

"Hurry up and get ready to go Noel... I'm taking you out for breakfast before school..." I state and she nods slightly.
She slips from her bed and I realized she had nothing on but her underwear.
I snap my eyes shut and throw my hands over them.
She laughs at me and removed my hands...

"Kain you have seen me in much less..." She states and I roll my eyes.
Looking down I see her scars still there...
All of them showing her story through pain...
I used to feel bad for looking at them.
Now the scars only make me love her even more.
She has been through everything and she still finds its in her heart to make others happy...

She turns and walks into her closet.
I stand and watched her.
Seeing the woman I am in love with acting like we are happily married makes me feel the luckiest man in the world.

She throws on a t-shirt and a pair of jeggings.
She slips on her boots and looks to me.
I instantly look away getting caught staring at her.
She enters her bathroom and closes the door behind her.
I release the air I locked in my lungs...
That was close.
