The room fell silent and I suddenly hated every single moment of last night.

"You two know each other?" John asked. I turned to look at him at the end of the table, then back to Brian. The entire room was confused.

"No, I have no idea who he is," I frowned, "I just have one of those faces you know." Brian stared at me from the doorway and raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah, she's right. Sorry she's just got one of those faces," he awkwardly laughed. He pulled out the chair next to me and sat down, disregarding his name placard on the table.

The room then fell to another silence and two producers stood up at the other end of the room. They briefly ran over the details of our contract and how we would be paid and everything.

After some time, we had to go around the table and introduce ourselves. There were a few other cast members that were going to be main characters like Tristan and myself, but the other minor characters weren't here today. John took us through the briefing of how the process went and I was sure nearly everyone else in the room understood how television series' worked in Hollywood.

Throughout the next weeks we were going to film a pilot episode that would then be sold to different networks to see which network would pick up the series. John seemed pretty sure that we would get picked up either way, whether we produced a pilot or not.

Seeing that today was Wednesday, we had until Saturday night to learn our lines – and the first episode was going to be filmed from Sunday through to next Wednesday, a week from today.

One of the directors started talking, which snapped me out of my thoughts.

"I know that for a few of you this is very rushed, and you only got the role under a week ago – but we've been stewing and developing for months now on our end, and we knew that we wanted to produce a series like this. Theoretically, the goal is that we successfully get picked up for a season after the first pilot is released. We aim to at least have filmed the whole season by the end of summer so that we can have an end-of-summer premiere for the pilot on the selected network," the director said, I think his name was Pete.

"Why so fast?" Tristan asked. A few of the producers and directors looked at each other as there was a pause in the room. It was as if they were all dreading what was coming next.

"As bad as this sounds Tristan, the relationship with Mae and yourself happened nearly a year ago, and we want the public to see the two of you on television together before the relationship becomes old news and people forget that it ever happened," Pete smiled.

I thought it already was old news.

"So here are your scripts for the first pilot episode. We're going to have a quick table read through the script once, and then we're going to send you off to learn them."

We all nodded, and thick booklets of paper were handed around the table. I looked down at the one ahead of me, and it had my name stated, and my characters name. In the show, I was going to be a sixteen year old named Lily Washington who falls in love with a celebrity named Nate Baxter.

Sounds familiar.

"So we have the episode Synopsis on the first page," Pete said. I looked down on the front page and saw the writing '1.01 PILOT' in the middle. I turned the page over and saw a little detailed description about the episode. Pete begun to read it out.
