I yelled out I used my key to get inside my Nan's home. I took a step in and a deep breath. It smelled like my childhood if that made any sense.
I smiled as I felt Dave come up the Brownstone steps behind me entering my Nan's home.
Wrapping his arms loosely around my waist. We just stood there, just enjoying the moment.
"This shit real nice babygirl"

I smiled to myself at Dave's words. This was my safe place.
"In the kitchen Lee Lee!"
I smiled big as my Nan's voice boomed through the house. I could smell the Sunday Soul food dinner cooking and I couldn't wait.
"come on baby my Nan's in the kitchen. I grabbed his hand as we walked the first floor to the kitchen.

"Yes, that's my dad, me and my Nan"
I thought back on the day and smiled.
"My dad had just come back from LA and he said he wanted to take his favorite two ladies out. He took me and my Nan to dinner at this real fancy restaurant Downtown called Toni's on Park. I felt so special.
