It's everything you wanted, it's everything you don't.
It's one door swinging open and one door swinging closed.
Some prayers find an answer.
Some prayers never know.
We're holding on and letting go.

Epilogue - “Holding On and Letting Go”

IMMI

Standing at the border of both demon and angel territory, I let out a long, depressed sigh.  This would probably be the last time I saw any of the angels.  I couldn't go back into Heaven.  I had a sinner's stain that would never come out, plus they'd say that I'd let a demon invade my body (even though I hadn't, and there was no way I could stop him).  Under no circumstances would I be let back in.  They'd say that this was my fault, no matter what.  I'd accepted that a month ago, when Balt told me, when I was freed of that horrid place.

“I can't believe I'm never ever going to see you!”  Em cried, her tears were pouring uncontrollably out of her eyes like a waterfall.  Her nose was running too, and her shoulders kept shaking.  To be fair though, I was crying too.  It just wasn't as extreme as Em's; but there was no doubt that when I was on my own, I was going to break down.  Em had been there my entire life, we'd always supported each other and now... now I was probably never going to see her.

“I know!”  I wailed, the dam finally breaking.  We braced each other tightly.  I didn't want them to go, not even Caroline.  We were a family!  My heart was breaking into tiny little fragments.

We stood there, just me and Em, bawling our eyes out for at least fifteen minutes.  Neither of us wanted to be separated from each other.  It was going to be hard but we needed to go our separate ways.  If she stayed here with me, she wouldn't be the angel she wanted to become.  I wasn't going to stop her from completing her dreams.  Just because I couldn't be a fully-fledged angel didn't mean she couldn't be.  And it didn't mean I was going to keep her here forever because I was going to have a hard time adjusting.

“Alright, Emily, come back!  We need to go soon!”  Harmony shouted, ruining our little moment.  We both looked at each, chuckled slightly and wiped away our tears.  We gave each other one last bone-crushing hug before making our way back to everyone.

The demons didn't look too upset, not unless you counted Bernadette as one of them.  In this month that Harmony and everyone else had stayed, she and Bernadette had gotten close again.  They had managed to move past the whole 'selling your soul' fiasco.  It was going to be hard, being separated but it was just how life was.  Harmony was a tutor in Heaven and Caroline and Emily were still being taught.  They didn't have any assignments down here, so they couldn't stay.  It was a shame.

Balt held my waist, and I relaxed into him.  The initial shock of everything had me being wary of him and Marcus, but soon I was trusting them like before.  It just made me think how much they could have lied about who they were.  They could have taken advantage of me but they didn't.  They weren't like the cold-hearted, evil demons we'd been lectured about.

The sun was slowly setting, bleeding soft, warm colours into the sky.  They'd be leaving in a few hours, when darkness started to take over.  When we flew to Heaven, or fell down to Earth, we looked like shooting stars (sometimes even like comets or meteor showers).  We needed to be going at our full speed in order to fly through the portal.

“We'll get going.  Let you guys get to the landing pad safely.”  Marcus told them.  He was still on edge about the whole Dimitri and Shax thing.  Because he'd forced Shax out of his body, he didn't want to get caught.  Especially if he was going to use me as a way to get revenge.  I'd already been possessed once, it's not like it couldn't happen again.  In fact, it would probably be even easier to possess me.

“Thank you.”  Harmony nodded.  Her eyes were glassy, like she'd been crying recently or was about to cry.  “Immi... just... take good care of yourself.  We'll watch over you.”  I nodded, and tried to stop myself from crying.  Unfortunately, it didn't work.  I started to bawl again, my shoulders shuddered.  Balt turned my head so I was crying into him, staining his fresh shirt with tears.  He didn't care though.  I think he was just happy that I was letting him comfort me and that we were getting on with our relationship.

Taking my face out of his now tear stained top, I sniffled and nodded at Harmony.  Smiling weakly, I tried to show that I was going to be strong, that I wasn't going to turn to the dark side (which I knew I wouldn't.  It even felt wrong to think about it).

Balt's hand slid down my arm, and his fingers laced themselves into mine.  Em was wiping the tears that were pouring out of her eyes, Harmony's eyes were glassy and Caroline... well, she did look slightly upset even if she wasn't willing to show it.  I could feel Balt tugging at my arm, trying to get me to leave.  I knew I had to, I just didn't want to.  It meant saying good-bye, for a long time.  I gave them all one last look, one look so that I could take a mental picture and remember them.

I felt pressure on my hand I twisted my head to look at Balt.  He gave me a smile and pressed his lips to my temple.  Letting out a sad sigh, I rested my head against Balt's arm.  It was going to take a while, but I was going to get used to living on Earth and living with my new family.  It would be odd, but I'd cope.

Not too sure about this ending, but there you go!  All done and dusted!  The story of Balt & Immi is finished :3 I had quite a few ways of doing this but I think this was the most approppriate!

I also decided to do like a spin-off/sequel/book related to this :3 still unsure of the title but it's a working progress, and hopefully it'll be good ^.^

OKAY, SO HOPE YOU ENJOYED FFG! :-) xxxxx
