I recently stumbled across the cover for The Lost Continent, and I have to say I'm so excited to see the new series take shape!
Already, there's snippets of info about the arc floating about here and there from interviews with Tui, announcements, etc.
So what do we know about this new arc?
The country:
- It's called Pantala, and it's also shaped like a dragon!
- Its name is a genus of dragonfly, which matches Pyrrhia, a genus of moth (I whomped that straight off the Wiki).
- There's no animus magic (thank the moons).
- It has new biomes.
Connections with Pyrrhia:
- Clearsight's arrival had a major impact on the dragons there. She might have also got married there.
- The Pyrrhians knew about it in Darkstalker's era, but knowledge diminished over the centuries.
- Foeslayer/Hope mentions something about the Legend of the Hive, which presumably has something to do with Pantala.
- Burn had a Pantalan dragon wing in her weirdling tower.
The tribes:
- We'll be meeting three new tribes, and one of them might be extinct.
- They're based off insects.
- You can find them released one at a time on Scholastic. Currently, the only ones we know about are the SilkWings (the dragon on the cover).
- They're "not in a good situation" at the moment - apparently there's tensions between them.
The characters:
- The dragon on the cover is a SilkWing.
- A lot of people are assuming they're a female? Guys stop
- We might meet one of Clearsight's descendents!
