Chapter 13: Searching For a Long Lost Sister

The week went surprisingly fast and for some reason I saw Veronica packing her stuff and clearing her work place all the while shooting me a look of absolute hatred. I didn’t know what her problem with me now as I didn’t do or even think about her lately but Catherine explain things to me and I was shock and very please at what she told me.

Apparently Mr. Ricardo had enough of her attitude and sent her packing as soon as he found a replacement for her. I ask Catherine what she did that prompted the boss to fire her. Her answer caught me off guard that I ask her to repeat again.

Veronica lied to the boss about why I was absent from work and apparently she didn’t do a good job on it as the boss told her that she has just insulted his intelligence and his time with her nonsense and promptly told her she was fired as soon as he finds a replacement for her. I was doing a happy dance in my mind as I don’t have to deal with her crap any longer. I ask Catherine how did she know about this and she said she over heard Veronica’s minions talking at the break room so she decided to eavesdrop on them.

After I found out about that good news well good news for me not Veronica I was in a good mood all week but what I don’t get is why does she have to constantly glare at me its not like it’s my fault that she got fired. She got fired because of her own stupidity I mean come on did she really think she can lie to the boss without any consequences.  

Though I will admit that it was brave of her to try if it was me I would not even think of lying to him as I know he is to smart to be lied to.

I and Catherine were having our normal lunch at the small café talking when I complain about Veronica glaring at me all the time. Catherine explained that Veronica always glaring at me because she blames me for her getting fired and that she was going to have her revenge at me. I just look at her baffle and ask Catherine as to why she thinks it’s my fault when I was in a hospital recovering from a brutal beating that almost cost me my life. Catherine just shrugged her shoulders and said she is has some issues with the way she thinks because she can’t realize that it was her own fault she got fired. I laughed at how she said that with an uninterested face.     

Besides that nothing out of the ordinary happened. Everything went back to normal when I got back to work except that I had a lot of work to catch up with while I was absent but for some reason the boss was helping me with my work and I was too afraid to ask him why he was helping me so I just graciously accept his help.

With his help I manage to finish all the work by the end of the week so I didn’t have to work this weekend and will be able to search for my missing sister with Beth the whole weekend and I won’t stop until I find her and find out why she ran away from all those years ago.

I can’t believe I forgot about my older sister by two years ever since I finish college and started working. I never figured out why she ran away. All she wrote on a piece of paper in her room was telling us not to look for her but of course we look for moreover we also called the police to help us find her. Unfortunately we could not find her anywhere that she could have run to.

The police told us that she could not have run far as she was only a nineteen year old girl but the police could not find and the police went searching for her for a month before they stop but promise us to keep a look out for Sapphire and to contact us if they find her.
