Well, Nico was scared of sleep. Every time he'd shut his eyes to rest, he saw deaths.

All he wanted was those images to disappear.

As if life couldn't get any worse for him, he was informed he had to spar daily with a new camper.

Y/n, a daughter of Athena, was smart and quick.

The first time they'd fought, he'd been caught unaware. He hadn't been prepared for her to be so talented.

Over time, they became those friends who always fight, and then forgive at the last minute.

"Stupid!" He'd shout.

"Your brain compacity is that of a chipmunk!"

"Chipmunks are cute!"

"So what?!"

"...does that mean I'm cute?"

She slapped him.

"No. I meant, you're as stupid as a chipmunk!"

"Haha. Hon, I have your knife." Nico replied.

Y/n pulled out a spare knife.

"Haven't defeated me yet!" She shouted.

After many fights over two months, it still wasn't decided who was the better fighter.

They decided to do an ultimate battle...

Campers crowded around, wondering who'd win.

The bell went off, and both started straining.

Y/n got up and kissed his cheek, but kept her elbow on the table.

Nico'd been shocked, so Y/n used that moment to win.

"I'm the winner!" She shouted.

But, people weren't chanting her name, but (ship name)

Y/n blushed.

Nico blushed.

Percy chucked them into the lake.

And the result was Percy's cabin being surrounded by skeletons and toilet paper.

Nico went to bed that night feeling better than he'd ever had. He didn't have dreams about death, but life and happiness.

All because of Y/n.
